my only real experience with fates is that i bought conquest when it came out and decided to do my first run on lunatic and i was having a REALLY good time and enjoying the lunatic difficulty design. and then i hit a wall in chapter 10 and i spent about two months trying to beat it and made MANY turn by turn diagrams but could not get through it and finally ceded to dropping the difficulty down to hard, at which point i realized that i didn’t really have any investment in the story or the characters and the primary appeal to me was the really good high difficulty design. i also didn’t care for what they did to the weapons triangles. but other than that on a gameplay level i really enjoyed it and i would like to give it another go sometime for completions sake. but i don’t think i want to play it three times
