Maybe everything and everyone are connected like spokes of a wheel. Yesterday was "Plough Monday" and the start of the agricultural year in England. I was lucky to walk the fields with a friend as she was telling me about traditional farming practices in Wales which she is reviving on her land. It also was the day of creation of women in Maya calendar. And today is the main festival of Vodoun in Benin, the religion of powerful priestesses and a female creator. 10th of January is also the birthday of one of my favourite fantasy artists, Jeffrey Catherine Jones, who was unhappy in a male body, transitioned to female, but still could not find peace. Wheel of Dharma, wheel of Time, wheel of Fortune. Why someone is born male or female? Is it a lesson to learn, something to ignore as much as possible, or even maybe something which people fight and try to change? Today is, apparently, the Introvert Day. I regret that there is no extravert day, as far as I know. A lot of things have been said (and argued) about introverts. I just wanted to add that in my experience introverts (sometimes also feelers as opposed to thinkers, and intuitives as opposed to sensory people) often perceived as people who need to be chaperoned through their lives. But someone who quietly finds their own way with their own light is not necessarily lost. They will come back to the warmth and maybe tell their stories by the fire. When they are ready. The month of #May. I prefer to pick pagan celebrations for the calendar illustrations because pagans were and are more likely to accept various ways of living and diversity of spiritual practices. Sometimes to their own demise, when some "monoculture" people take over and work hard to destroy old ways. It is good when all kinds of people coexist in peace and freedom. But these days not many grown ups want to be chaperoned into somebody else's version of paradise. Too much was already harshly pushed from above, which just lead to people loosing trust. Harmony only possible if it grows organically, from the ground. Only by personal experience could attitudes change: "We are having a great party, do you want to join?" During my life if you asked me what job I would be less willing to do, I probably would say a nurse or a carer. Yet this is what I ended up doing, out of necessity, because there's no one else to take care of my elderly mother. What this tells me about the Universe? First option, it is indifferent, random things happen but it is my fault for not earning my way out of this situation and not pursuing my own dreams. I am wasting my life. Second option, the Universe is hostile and torturing / testing me to the limits. Maybe its an angry god or I am paying for breaking a mother's heart in the previous life or something like that. Still I am a failure because I can't make peace with the situation. So often sad, and angry, and frustrated. Third (and preferred) option is that the Universe is benevolent and this situation is what I need for development. Even if I am partly failing there's always some worthwhile lesson in a very long run. There's no race, no final exam, no total score.
