I reject urgency culture, competitiveness & comparison, the "I'm too old for this" mentality, chaotic relationships, and drama.
I prioritize calmness, moving at my own pace, body awareness, and selective relationships.
The body doesn't care about keeping up with societal timelines; It cares about safety.
I want back
the me
from before I met you,
but
I want her to know
how great
it felt
to love you

On feeling behind in life
You’re not behind in life. There’s no schedule or timetable that we all must follow. It’s all made up. Wherever you are right now is exactly where you need to be.
Eight billion people can’t do everything in exactly the same scheduled order. We are all different with a variety of needs and goals. Some get married early, some get married late, while others don’t get married at all. What is early? What is late? Compared with whom? Compared with what? Some want children, others don’t. Some want a career, others enjoy taking care of a house and children.
Your life is not on anyone else’s schedule. Don’t beat yourself up for where you are right now. It’s YOUR timeline, not anyone else’s, and nothing is off schedule.
- Emily Maroutian
Something about feeling behind, i guess
It's a little strange for me to see a friend achieving things. It's not something like envy, it's just a feeling of being behind, as if I can't achieve incredible things too. Anyway… it's just a thought/rant. I'm happy for my friends' achievements, but I wonder when it will be my turn.

There were days that were a reminder to me that I may be running out of time already. I've gained a lot of pressure from wondering if I can still see myself in the life I pictured years ago. I watch souls consistently soar while I am stocked up with far-flung goals I have yet to achieve.
But I stopped caring about other people's timelines; maybe I'm meant for the "slow process." I don't want to rush myself just because others are already far ahead. I don't want to race. I am choosing to go with the flow.
With every broken bone, I yearn to live in this existence. I yearn to not just survive in this life.
(an original poem about feeling behind as an autistic person)
the child who is 18
you were a child
and
you had a normal childhood
but…
there was something creeping there.
you were a child
but
you couldn’t understand
anything that was happening.
you were a child
but
they seemed to know something
you didn’t.
you were a child
but
you were a bad child.
you were a child,
who had two friends,
but
they had each other
and you had no one.
you were a child
but
you felt like a squirrel
amongst the birds.
you were a child
but
you didn’t know what
was wrong with you.
you were a child
and It was the most
lonely and isolating.
you are a child.
your friends have friends
in college
and
you don’t.
