Had an absolutely disappointing time at the Verse Immersive Trick R Treat VR experience at MOA last night. It was glitchy, the games were too simple yet too frustrating (I kept “eating” the candy when I tried to throw it) and it was <15 minutes. $30 each with $12 in fees and taxes so for six of us it was $192. And we all hated it. It’s so bad that a staff member told me they’re probably closing the whole Fear Fest experience. Not “we won’t be back next year” but “we probably won’t open next weekend.” He even told me to contact VI and try to get my money back. It was that bad. I thought the Elvira bar and pop up shop would make it worth the drive but they weren’t open yet and they looked overpriced and lame from the glimpse we got of the designed-and-built-by-Spirit-Halloween props/decor. So. That sucked.
Afterward I got an Orange Julius - it’s frozen orange juice, why’d I waste money on that too? Why was it so good when I skipped school to go to the mall in middle school but it was just OJ this time? Not as disappointed about it but yeah, I regretted wasting the money.
On the plus side I got a compliment on the shirt I was wearing and a friend that went with gave me an early birthday gift.
I love capybaras, Halloween, and stuffies (Jesus, when did I start calling them what my eight year old niece calls them?) so this is perfect. Slept with it all evening. Then decided he needs a name this morning.
Yeah, I did that backwards. Aren’t I supposed to know a name before I sleep with someone? Or does that just apply to humans? Do I even need to get a name to sleep with someone? I digress.
Punkin. His name is Punkin. As determined by the person who gifted him to me in a message five minutes ago.
So. It wasn’t a bad night. Parts were disappointing. But I got my step goal completed, I got to try a free Lindt Halloween chocolate (I LOVE the blood orange flavor but $30 for a bag? Sorry. Even if I had the $ I would have passed. I’m sure there are other orange chocolates out there - Terry’s orange immediately comes to mind… can I get those yet or are they seasonal? 🤔), and I got a new stuffie friend. Got to spend time out of the house, with other humans that aren’t my mom. Got to people watch - which I love as long as I’m not stuck in the crowd but can be on the edge. Saw four dudes with the same Playboy shirt on throughout the mall. All of em had similarly bored and thoroughly disinterested looking girls with them. All the girls were chewing gum and/or their nails and trailing along listlessly while looking at their phones. I only know it was different guys because the girls were different. I digress again.
