While initially I would never even think in a million years that Jesse and Virion could be related, as it would seem like little more to go off from other than the fact that they are both from Valentia/Valm and share a flirtatious side, looking more into it has had me making a few connections that could reveal a bit more to the dukedom of Rosanne, considering how little we know of it.

Starting off with Rosanne's location, the only possibilities can be taken from minor details in Cherche's support conversations.

In her supports with Vaike, Cherche says that she found Minerva when she wandered to Wyvern Valley

And in her supports with Donny, he tells of a story he heard from a travelling merchant of a 9 year old girl from Valm who tamed a wyvern.

Looking at this, it would be very likely that Rosanne is in close proximity to Wyvern Valley if a 9 year old girl can travel there on her own.

And if I am not mistaken, this is about the same location as the Desert Stronghold from Echoes:

Moving on to Jesse, he comes from a noble family (one of which apparentely has connections with Clive's). However, he is the son of a low-ranking concubine. With the birth of his younger brother, Jesse decides to abandon his family name and become a mercenary so that his sickly brother could succeed their father. Now a part of Celica's army, Jesse meets Saber and Kamui, who he discusses his dreams of starting a "kingdom for mercenaries" with and seeks their assistance.

This is Jesse's ending in Echoes:

By the end of the events in Echoes, Jesse, along with Saber and Kamui (the later who ends up going missing, and may have involvement in the existence of Chon'sin. But that's not a topic for today), establish the mercenary kingdom. It is likely that this was permitted by Alm and Celica. By proper definition, this could be a Dukedom, as it would be land bestowed by the King and Queen, it also is not the main kingdom of the continent, that would be the One Kingdom of Valentia.

It is also mentioned that Jesse established this kingdom in what was once Grieth's Citadel, a location that is close to the Desert Stronghold:

The reason this is important is that the location of the Desert Stronghold becomes Wyvern Valley by Awakening's timeline, a place in which Cherche, a citizen from Rosanne, wandered off to one day when she was only 9 years old. Point being, the mercenary kingdom founded during Echoes would be the only known significant settlement nearest to the area that would become Wyvern Valley. Therefore, it would be possible to assume that the mercenary kingdom would later become Rosanne.

The only problem with this is that the mercenary kingdom was founded in the desert, while the dukedom of Rosanne is described as being very fertile. However, the proximity of Mila's Tree to this region in Awakening could have restored the once dry lands, as well as Celica stopping the drought from Mila's absence by the end of the events in Echoes. It should also be noted that Sage's Hamlet is relocated near Wyvern Valley, both of which are fertile lands residing in an area that was once a desert in Echoes. (the former location of Sage's Hamlet is now Valm Harbor)

Considering this, that would create the possibility that Jesse and Virion are related. Though there is no telling how it began as a dream kingdom started by 3 sellswords to what it is now under Virion's rule. There could also be other possibilities where it was simply passed down to Virion, such as circumstances where Jesse or someone else along the way doesn't continue the family tree, and is then inherited by someone else, or in a worse case, it is raided and taken over by another noble. Or even that Rosanne is simply a new noble settlement founded near the region during the 2000 year timeskip from Echoes to Awakening? All things could be possible.

In short, the Desert Stronghold is now Wyvern Valley, a place a nine year old girl wondered to from Rosanne, a noble settlement which could date back to the mercenary kingdom based on the geography. Opening the possibility that Jesse and Virion could be related in one way or another.

“Hey there.” Jesse calls for your attention; you turn to face him. Not expecting him to be so close, you get a nice front seat to his chest and abs. Surprised at the close proximity, you cough before stumbling back. “Wow, guess I’m showing off too much of the goods huh?” Jesse smirks as you laugh at him.

You rub your chin, inspecting his chest as you lightly tug his collar to the side, showing off his collarbones. “I’d argue not enough, but it’ll do.”

“It’ll do?”

“It’ll do. You’ve got some stiff competition here, Jesse.” You point at the various other men in Celica’s army, Jesse scowling as you point to Saber and Atlas.

“And what do they have that I don’t?” Jesse pouts, his beautiful face becoming adorable from his frown.

“I can’t reveal everything right away can I?” You laugh as you head off, giving a pat to Jesse’s shoulder. Before either of you can process the action, Jesse smacks your butt. You freeze right away and Jesse freezes too. Jesse says something about Saber calling for him and he jogs out of the awkward environment he created.

You finish your tasks to set up today’s camp. Making sure that the tents aren’t going to collapse,  you smile at the day’s task completed. Jesse smacking you wasn’t unwanted perse, but it was much more than you expected from his teasing. By the time the camp designated meal time draws near, you focus on helping Conrad cook and passing out the meals. Conrad thankfully hands Jesse his plate while you serve the others. The entire meal end up being awkward as you avoid Jesse’s gaze. By the time you hurriedly finish your meal, you retire to your tent right away, handing your dish to Boey and Mae, tonight’s designated cleaners. Lying down, you breath slowly. You close your eyes as you think of other things. Such as, tonight’s meal, yesterday’s march and anything else, but your mind always wanders back to Jesse. Groaning, you grunt and hit your hands on the ground. As if Jesse would like you back, you’re probably just misinterpreting his antics.

“Are you alright?”

You shoot straight up as Conrad appears out of nowhere. “Yeah.” You blurt out.

“You and Jesse have been acting strange recently. Did something…” Conrad trails off, his face pink.

“No!” You yell, before cringing from the whole camp probably being able to hear you.

“Are you sure?” Conrad rubs the back of his head. “Jesse said-”

“What’d he say?”

“He told me that he might have come on too strong today.” Conrad’s blush worsens, Conrad being unused to such talks. “He feels that you might not appreciate such things.” You groan and stand up, thanking Conrad on your way out.

You spot Jesse washing the dirty utensils from tonight’s dinner. He spots you in turn and stands up.

“Wait!” You shout, Jesse stopping as he stares at you. Reaching him, you slap him back on the butt. “You idiot, Conrad told me.”

“How much?” Jesse smiles as he sits on the ground, patting the dirt beside him which you oblige.

“Enough for me to now that you thought I wasn't interested.” You smile at him which Jesse returns before speaking.

“Conrad told me that you appreciated it. And he wasn’t the only one; Atlas called me an idiot.” You groan into your hands, the realization that others knew about your crush on Jesse getting to you.

“I thought you weren’t interested.” You confess. You flop onto the dirt, your back smacking the ground as you stare at the stars.

“I thought you weren’t interested.” Jesse retorts. His smile growing despite the stupidity of the two of you.

“You really are an idiot.” You laugh, the sheer idiocy of the situation getting to you.

“So what now?” Jesse asks you.

“I don’t know to be honest.”

“So you wouldn’t want to go out with this?” Jesse gestures to himself as he lies beside you. You blush and refuse to look at him.

“I’d like that.” You blurt out.

“Gotcha. So let’s do it.’ Jesse grabs your hand and lifts it to his mouth, giving it a peck. “And we’re already ready to stargaze for our first date.”

“Already more romantic than smacking me in the butt.” You snicker.

“You enjoyed it.” Jesse retorts as you roll your eyes.

“So?”

“So you wouldn’t complain if I did it again.”
