The social media company Facebook announced at its developers conference that it's converting its messenger app into a platform which will now run apps to turn its users into consumers.

Wtf..?

  Yeah, despite being super busy this quarter, our developers and creative team designed this FB app that we could just e*f around with. It’s pretty simple really. Combine some base level of face/spatial recognition technology along with augmented reality, and you end up with… this:

We created this app to showcase (in a very lightweight measure) the technology of Augmented Reality, which certain brands like Starbucks, Doritos, and our client Pepsi have played around in recent times. We must say, it most definitely has the potential to add a whole new level of fun and engagement when done right. 

One of the things that I promised myself is that I will not play games on Facebook. 

I ignored all the Farmville invites and all the other game invites. I didn't care how many times I got challenged. 

I refused to play Facebok games. 

Not because I don't like gaming. I do. I've been a gamer for a very very long time.

Granted, I don't play as much as I used to. But, every now and then, I still get sucked in to gaming. 

But, really, Facebook games are ones that I've chosen not to play.

Then comes Avengers Alliance on Facebook.

And finally, I'm wavering. Finally, I'm tempted to give in. 

I haven't yet, though. I'm still trying to hold on to my No Facebook Games Rule. I'm just not sure how long I'd last until I break that rule.
