Decided to take one of my unfinished pages from Day 124 and work on it some more for Day 131 of my #DailyArt practice. Not quite happy with the piece but it was fun to play anyway. Sometimes, that's all that matters.

Not sure if this #DailyArt piece from Day 130 works, but happy to try incorporating one of my handmade stamps here. Makes me want to carve new stamps!

#LaterGram - While I have been posting close to daily on Instagram and Twitter, it has been almost a week since I last posted on my Facebook timeline. Never mind that I'm on it nearly everyday due to work. :) Anyway, I wanted to post something on Mothers' Day last Sunday but the busy-ness of the day kept me mostly offline. Thankfully, still managed to greet my mom and mum-in-law. The day started off with morning tea and gifts in bed, with the family. You can see my fourth Star Wars bobble head there. :) Also got chocolates, handmade cards, a bird salt and pepper shaker set, as well as cupcake from church. Then we went to lunch at a new Vietnamese restaurant nearby after church. And then we ended the day watching Captain America: Civil War (yes, loved it! so much better than Avengers: Age of Ultron). Anyway, it's been another busy week for the family, what with work, two kids taking NAPLAN, extra curricular activities, preps for an upcoming big event, parent-teacher meetings, and more. Anyway, just hope you're all keeping well. x

Day 129 of #DailyArt was last Sunday, Mothers' Day. It was a very hectic day of family stuff, so even though I meant to post something, I didn't get the chance. Maybe I'll still share what I got later anyway as a #latergram. :) In any case, I still managed to do this small piece. Pictured here with another one of my collections - Post Its! :)

Even though I am feeling a bit uninspired lately, I try to keep going with my #DailyArt anyway. Most days, I question myself. But, some days, I'm glad. The piece from Day 128 makes me glad.

It's getting tougher to work on my #DailyArt practice, as my days seem to be getting busier and more challenging. Still trying to keep up, though. But, I'm not sure for how much longer. Might need to re-adjust my schedule and expectations. This piece is from Day 127.

Day 126 of my #DailyArt practice. Thinking of my late Dad, as it was his birthday. Trying to figure out where all these may be headed.

Day 125 of #DailyArt was spent practicing #moderncalligraphy , using a reminder phrase that I like to use to motivate me.

For Day 124 of my #DailyArt practice, just decided to play with paint on three pieces of paper as studies. All unfinished pieces.

On Day 123 of my #DailyArt practice, I thought I'd make handmade foam stamps. Haven't made stamps in a while, so decided to do some basic shapes. Looking forward to playing with these some time with ink and/or paint.

After the day before's floral painting, I thought I was going to revert to my #abstract expressionist pieces again for Day 122 of my #DailyArt practice. It started out that way but ended up with an abstract floral still life in the process.

For Day 121 of my #DailyArt practice, I decided just to use watercolours and paint an overall pattern of flowers, leaves, and small shapes. Not too inspired, but got the art-making done anyway.

Daddy would have turned 70 today. But, his last official birthday was 8 years ago. A heartbreaking day to remember. I can only be grateful for all the other days that we got to spend together - from our not-so-perfect everyday life and momentous travels and occasions in the Philippines to our adventures in the streets of Singapore, the landscapes of Malaysia, and the hilarious and legendary trip to South Africa. I wish he got to see Australia. I wish I can still say 'Happy Birthday' and 'I love you'. I wish he got to see my kids grow up and know how much they still talk about their Lolo. Death is so final. Life is so finite. I'm just glad we can celebrate what short life we have, so death doesn't get to take everything away.

Happy #StarWarsDay! 'been meaning to share my growing Star Wars collection, so thought I'd make the most of today. I wonder if there'd be time to re-watch a movie tonight? :)

Another #DailyArt piece. This one's from Day 120. Really loving tye tissue paper collage approach. I wasn't sure about it when I first tried. Now, I'm trying to figure out ways to use tissue paper more.
