Birthday train au:
Bridget now puts on very elaborate and very expensive yo-yo shows, she probably learned the value of of her skills from Sol. She's also pals with Goldlewis now, the certified cool uncle of the neighborhood.
Like any true blue 80's sitcom, Birthday Train follows a template when naming episodes, specifically each one is either a reference or a pun on a classic metal song title. For instance the Very Special Episode where Bridget comes out as trans is named "New Kind Of Rock n' Roll".
Before this she identified as non-binary, but openly because she really didn't "know" how she really felt about that whole sordid business so she kinda pushed it to one side. During one of Goldlewis' BBQs he accidentally calls her "Cowgirl" instead of his usual neutral "partner" and apologizes. But Bridget finds it odd that it doesn't bother...her...
The rest of the episode focuses on her, going around the neighborhood asking people how they felt about gender as a sort of general, vague thing. She never specifically mentions she's questioning herself and is really worried about getting it "wrong again", but because she's vague she gets all sorts of answers.
Ky and Dizzy admit they never really gave it any thought, Venom says that he had a long way to really figure himself and his sexuality out and spent most of his life before than worrying himself sick about making a "mistake", Faust gives her a very intricate answer about how gender is leagues more complicated than a simple Yes/No Binary and that questioning is a very healthy thing to do, and so on and so on until she gets to Sol.
Sol has a ton of identity issues that don't really have anything to do with gender at all (changing your name and becoming a parent before turning 18 kinda shunts all non-essential shit to the back of your head), but he says that nobody gets to decide who you are except you, the only one who gets to answer the question "who am I?" is yourself and everyone else and how they feel about it can get fu-stuffed get stuffed that's what he meant to say don't tell Dizzy alright?
"...listen, your answer is the only one that matters. Even and especially if that answer changes in the future, yeah?" "...yeah, I get-...wait-wait I didn't say-" "Kid, you're clever, but you ain't subtle, see you in the next barbeque yeah?"
And in the very next barbeque Goldlewis, again, says "Cowgirl" and apologizes, even more profusely than last time because once is a slip but two times is just being a heel. "No! No Mr. Dickinson it's alright...Cowgirl works just fine because...because I'm a girl!" She says it cheerfully, joyfully, likes she's finally figured out an answer to a riddle that's been bothering her for years. She says it loud enough that everyone else in the BBQ hears her and cheers for her loudly.
The episode ends on her getting swamped by Elphelt offering her makeup tips, Dizzy wanting to tie her hair, and Sol and Bridget sharing a quiet look for a second before exchanging thumbs up.
Hello Halo Friend! It's been a while since I've seen ya', but I hope you've been well. Best Friend's been in the muck for a while, but she's gotten out of it recently, and we're gonna do training and planning and stuff!
Anywho, if ya' wanna chat or somthing in person, I bet contacting Best Friend or Mischief Friend would work!
shhhhhh
Would Centaurs have two pairs of lungs? Where would their lungs be if they only had one pair: in the human chest or in the horse chest? What about all their other organs? Would they just have twice as much of everything, or is all just in one organ area and the other place is hollow?
These are the questions that have been haunting me for the past 2 weeks, to be honest......
I think everything would be quite shifted. I can understand two hearts - because that’s a long-ass body to get blood through, and I feel like you’d need the extra pressure to get it up to the central brain. But the lungs are more mobile in terms of what goes where.
I can imagine possibly transposing the lungs into two length-wise arrangements. Meaning there’s one lung in the stomach-area of the human torso, and another, larger lung in the chest area of the horse torso. Maybe? Fuck if I know. Fascinating stuff!
Some recent-ish pieces I've done for some art classes.
