Shigaraki x Female!Reader
Dialogue Prompt (5, 16), Meeting
Youâd expected something like this when sheâd said they were going to âwelcomeâ you into the League of Villainsâ there was something in the blonde girlâs voice that hinted at just as much. Â Still, as they tear you apart with their stares, you canât help but feel a little uneasy. Â You only count three people, but in your experience, numbers were no indication of lethality.
âWhereâs Giran?â Â A haze of purple smoke speaks from behind the bar counter. Â You hadnât noticed it before, and now you suddenly had four people to keep your eyes trained on. Â âHe usually brings recruits in himself.â
âThis oneâs not from Giran.â Â The tall man, Dabi, shoots back. Â âToga picked her up.â
The blonde in question grins wide, showcasing a set of very white, very sharp teeth. Â It was a wonder she even needed a knife to slice anyone. Â âOhhhhhh, she was just so cute! Â I tried toââ
Another voice cuts her off. Â âI know youâre crazy, but come on. Â You canât bring just anyone back here. Â We donât need any more liabilities.â Â The man sitting at the bar, a slender, pale thing scratches idly at his neck. Â Judging from the trademark hand clutching his face, heâs Shigarakiâ the big boss of this ragtag band of misfits. Â Heâs the one you need to convince.
You reach into your pocket, and in an instant, every person in the room flinches. Â Thereâs a blistering heat at your neck and you wince, holding up your hands in a show of surrender. Â The burning subsides, but thereâs still warmthâ a warning. Â Perhaps it wasnât wise to make sudden movements in a room full of wanted villains. Â You made a mental note to avoid them in the future. Â That is, if you managed to survive this encounter. Â The way things were going, you werenât sure.
âWho the hell are you?â Â Shigaraki stands, waiting.
You gesture to your mouth, then your pocket again, moving ever so slowly. Â Thankfully, Toga speaks up before anyone gets the wrong idea.
âShe canât talk, Tomura.  Youâve got to let her write it out.â  She continues to babble, even as you pull out your phone and start typing.  âShe left me the prettiest message in blood and IâŚâ
You twist the screen, letting the tiny text do the speaking for you. Â Shigaraki steps forward, yanking your phone from your hand. Â You notice the way he keeps his pinky finger far out to the side. Â Does he still have to think about controlling his quirk, or is it second nature by now? Â You push the question from your head, instead choosing to focus on his reaction to your hastily-composed message.
âThe whole incident with Katsuki Bakugoâ do you wish that things had happened differently?â
âWhat is this supposed to mean?â Â Heâs not happy, that much is for sure. Â Still, you figure youâll take your chances. Â You hold out your hand, praying heâll give you your phone and not turn you into a pile of dust. Â For a second, he looks like he really considers the latter option, but after a tense moment, he hands you the device. Â You type out another messageâ short and sweet.
âI could be your Bakugo.â
When he reads the message and peers up at you, glaring through grey-tinged fingers, you know itâs now or never. Â You take a deep breath and focus on not going overboard. Â The place needed to stay intact if you wanted to stay alive and more importantly, make a good impression. Â You exhale, puffing out dark cloud of smoke. Â Thereâs a flicker pulsing outward from your mouth, barely distinguishable through the smog. Â A flameâ itâs tiny though. Â You hope they donât mistake your restraint for weakness. Â Hell, at this point you hope they donât mistake your ârestraintâ for a sign of aggression. Â You relax a little when nobody tries to kill you immediately.
For the first time since youâd arrived, the Leagueâs leader stops his scratching, dropping a hand to his side. Â He reads over your message again, then hands your phone back without saying a word. Â When he makes a gesture aimed at somebody behind you, the fiery hand at your neck recedes.
âWhy do you want to join?â Â He holds out his hand, expecting a reply.
âHeroes donât get to burn the guys they donât like. Â Bad people do.â
âDo you think weâre bad people?â
You shrug, then smile. Â It mustâve been a good enough answer because he doesnât ask any more questions. Â He just gets this twisted grin, and you figure youâre a member of the League of Villains now.
