the especially annoying thing about that is that I KNOW these books have all those special tags in their metadata? like online retailers are not creating this data individually for each title, the publisher handles all that tagging and categorizing. So why is it not in there??

Americans also exclusively call it KFC lol! Also the raw meat that hamburgers is made of is just called ground beef, I don’t think I know anyone who calls raw meat hamburger meat on the regular. Also the pretzel thing is normal here too. Definitely a shocker about the hot dogs tho!

i didn’t know that about the KFC one! good to know. but i’ve definitely heard a lot of americans refer to beef mince/ground beef as just ‘hamburger’. might be an area based thing?

oooh I've read Annihilation! It's v cool, but I haven't gotten around to reading the others yet (despite owning the lovely compiled edition). Maybe Halloween will be the perfect time!

I definitely recommend it! Authority is actually my favorite of the three. I liked the narration and the setting a little better. There were a couple of legitimately creepy scenes in it, too! (One of them still makes me shiver when I think about it)

It does have a little bit of a WTNV vibe, now that you mention it! There’s a lot more questioning WHY the weird things are weird and a lot less humor, but a pretty similar premise of “a place where the uncanny happens and no one knows why.”

I haven't seen the latest episode but losing Alyssa does suck :(( while I did think phiphi was right in saying they gave Alyssa some passes for funny... being funny is SO IMPORTANT! Also sorry phiphi but the producers aren't responsible for no one being able to stand you, smdh. I'm rooting for Katya too now! Bob the drag queen is still my fave queen from recent seasons tho~~~
