"You didn't have to say all that creepy stuff." He scoffs. But regardless, it makes his chest feel warm knowing that Yugamu got him something. Though... He didn't know if he wanted to know what his 'everlasting love' meant.

While she couldn't deny that she had a sharp, judgmental side, Maki also knew that she wasn't someone with a leg to stand on when it came to morality. Whatever essential human qualities she might have had when she was younger had long since drained out from her. Someone who killed others without a hint of remorse couldn't ever be a normal person again. The Holy Salvation Society had been sure to impress that upon her.

Even so, there was a difference between herself and the kind of eccentrics who enjoyed killing for killing's sake. There were people like that in the Society as well, though Maki seldom interacted with them. They were supposed to keep up their covers in public, and it wasn't like they had 'leisure time' to get to know one another. It was better for everyone if they formed as few attachments as possible, so that when one of them inevitable was killed in action, nobody would mourn, or let it affect their job performance.

Which made it all the stranger to be working with an outsider. The job wasn't something one assassin could handle alone - not even someone with Maki's elite skills and experience. Still, wouldn't it have made more sense to partner with someone else from inside the Holy Salvation Society? If she was trying to look at it logically, it just seemed like another sign of her disposability. If something went wrong, or she ended up dead in the crossfire, how much would really affect their bottom line?

★ I don't really have anything for Takumi that'd be labeled as a 'crackship', especially since I don't have any actual crossover threads with him. HOWEVER, if I was to ever make a MC in my fav visual novel, Our Life: Beginnings and Always, in his likeness, I'd ofc ship him with the lead love interest, Cove.

Hm, maybe I should do that one day for funsies. . .

★ I wish I had any modicum of artistic abilities outside of writing, but I don't have the discipline or self-patience to learn. But outside of RP-related writing, the only other artsy writing I do is poetry :')
