I love G1 Transformers ironically, but I also love G1 TF unironically.  It’s just so much fun!  And so is this fic, in which a perfectly characterized Starscream plots (another) scheme to take out Megatron.

This fic delivers in so many ways!  

First, the author nails Starscream’s characterization.  He’s smart, sarcastic, not nearly as subtle as he thinks, and is just a terrible person.  Despite this, you the reader can’t help but regard him with loving tolerance (as he hogs the public washracks for himself or dumps his workload on the coneheads), as though he is your beloved cat who is currently and deliberately shoving your best china off the table.

Second, there is a surprising amount of exploration of the alien nature of the Transformers.  From the Decepticons’ dislike of human blood (not because it is blood, but because it resembles rust when it dries) to Starscream thinking of the sun as “a star”, you really get a sense that these warriors are far from home.

And third, this fic references the Big Purple Griffon.  I mean, you can understand the fic perfectly well without seeing the G1 episode with the Big Purple Griffon, but if you HAVE seen it, it is that much funnier.

i would… smooch them all! but… would they willingly smooch me? (answer is… a big ole stinking no). ranking top 10 because there’s too many to make a cohesive list. >_>

obviously tesla comes first because, why wouldn’t i want to smooch him. he’s cute, and has an even cuter resurreccion. although… he wouldn’t even notice me. so his willingness on the part is a Zero. i’m a human with no reiatsu, and, clearly, i’m not nnoitra-sama. i’m not worth his time of never-ending night. :’(

kukkapuro and lumina/verona come in next mainly because they’re cute, cuddly babies. kukkapuro’d probably let me too. at least, i hope. i fucking h o p e. please give me cute puppy kisses. …lumina and verona would somehow slip their ways out of my arms like little water balloons. bouncy little shits. let me give u kisses.

kaname. he’s HALF arrancar, so he counts. i will fight whoever says otherwise. i don’t care. i would also willingly hug and kiss his bug form along with squishing his (hopefully) soft bug feets.

starrk. also very huggable. probably the most willing to kiss me back on this list. maybe. if not, we could probably just… sleep together instead, tbh. his cushions look comfortable.

yammy. honestly, the idea of him sucking my soul out from kissing is pretty hot. i’m willing. so willing.

aaroniero. i’m talking artificially flavoured tank head aaroniero, not his lame mock-up of kaien. ew. boring. he’ll also eat me afterwards but idc. i’m going in. nothing will stop me.

harribel. who wouldn’t want to smooch shark mom! i’ll give her a cheek kiss on her mask just to be nice. please, tres bestias, i just wanna spread my love. don’t hurt me for touching ur beloved espada. :(

The Fic I won’t write game

This honestly sounds like a getting-together fic during Deathly Hallows, where Part One is Ginny being frustrated with Harry for running off to be a hero, and Luna comforting her and being her emotional rock, in comparison to, well, the guy that had responsibilities that necessitated a cross-country camping excursion. Part Two would be after the final battle, where Luna is recovering from both her capture and the war in general, and this time, Ginny is the rock, helping Luna find her own solidity as the Wizarding Community rebuilds.
