I think people think that when a person says (or more specifically a girl says cause sexism) that they want someone that will compliment them ie tell them how beautiful/handsome, intelligent, amazing and insightful they are etc they think wow they want someone who thinks all these superficial things about them and tell it to them for attention and to fuel their self esteem in reality it's not all like that. Sure it might fuel esteem levels but also confidence that you're with someone who appreciates you, who sees how good they have it and won't leave easily There's also a huge difference between thinking something and actually saying and or portraying it. You could be so admired by one person or more than one but for some reason no one tells you and since EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD NEEDS SELF ASSURANCE you start to think you're not worth anything because no one says anything but one person who compliments something so small but matters to you will change your world entirely so give that a thought you self entitled fartjar
