An outstanding rendition. A gorgeous, passionate voice that captures Fantine’s complete range of emotions. I’ve written before about what a versatile singer Carmen is – how many others include both Christine Daaé and Elphaba in their repertoire? – and that versatility suits the role of Fantine especially well. She’s capable of singing with classical beauty that conveys the innocence and dignity of Fantine at the start of her journey, yet also of enormous vocal power and emotional rawness. Brava!
