Tens years in the future, George and Nick rediscover a piece of the past.

Monopoly, salsa, two bags of chips… George ran through her list, pushing open the door to the dining area.

"Nick," she called, the door falling shut behind her. "Is Scrabble here or at home?"

"I think it's here. In the office on the middle shelf."

George scanned the dining area, hearing Nick's voice but not seeing him. The room was dim, the blinds closed. With business slow in the winter, they never kept The Claw open late.

"Where are—" She took a few steps forward and spotted him. "Why are you on the floor?"
