Hello, Dinnerstucks!
So the San Jose Old Spaghetti Factory is a huge pain in the ass, and, long story short, I wasn’t able to get a reservation. (This is after previous years where they’ve lost my reservation, and this year, they wouldn’t let me make a reservation until it was full. But that’s beside the point.)
I’m trying to find alternatives, and so far we have four options:
1. Try for the OSF anyway as a drop-in, and go to a nearby restaurant if the wait is too long (we did this the year they lost my reservation)
2. Send someone to the OSF earlier in the day to get on the list and hope for the best; have another nearby restaurant as a backup
3. Make a reservation at a nearby sushi restaurant that is about the same distance from con as the OSF
4. Make a reservation at a nearby pizza/pasta restaurant that takes reservations
I haven’t called either of the alternative restaurants to see if they have anything open for this large of a group, since I want to make sure that no one has any issues with either type of cuisine or any preferences. I like option #3 myself and will go with that if I don’t hear from anyone.
Any opinions on restaurant choices?
