There is a hard upper limit of 15 individuals (including myself).I’ll be closing the list either the Thursday before con (12/31/15) or once full, whichever comes first.

Dinner will run around $10~15/person. This is on top of the $3 base cost. You can take a look at the menu here if you like. There are gluten-free and vegetarian options. The location may change, so if it does, I will notify everyone.

This event is 21+.

If you are over 18 and under 21 and want to attend, still message me, especially if you have attended previously. You may need to remind me of who you are. I’m more likely to accept people within this age range if I know who you are. If you are over 21, just RSVP as usual. If you are within a mixed-age group, please let me know – I’m also more likely to approve 18-20 year olds who are with someone of drinking age who is attending.

I know I might get some backlash for this, and I’m sorry if you are going to be excluded by age, but it’s gotten to the point where I have few other options that I would be comfortable with. You can take a look at my Fanimecon debrief for my reasoning. If anyone who is younger or who is up to it wants to take up an event in this style that allows for younger guests, please message me and I can help you plan. I want a space for younger members of the fandom, but I can’t have that be this particular space anymore.

Since this event is highly size-limited, I am going to have to enforce the RSVP list. I’ve done the honor system in the past, but because of restaurant size limitations and people bringing extra attendees in the past, this will no longer work. 

The restaurant we are attending this SacAnime requires reservations. Let me repeat that. I have to make a reservation to get in to this place. That means having as accurate of a headcount before the event as possible. Also, because this is a sit-down restaurant, the size limitation is small – only 15 people total can attend. This includes myself. This means that if you are planning on bringing friends along, please let me know beforehand so I can make sure there is enough room and that I make the reservation for the correct group size. If you feel there might be an issue where someone may or may not be able to make it, again, please let me know with as much advance notice as possible. If you are in this kind of situation, tell me, and I’ll give you my cell # so you can get a hold of me at the con itself.

As you have noticed, I have added a base cost to this event. This will be paid, in cash, at the start of the event, and will go towards a collective tip for the waitstaff. You are perfectly welcome and highly encouraged to tip on your own on top of this but this is to help limit the size of the event and to make sure that the staff get the tip they deserve.

Before we leave, I’m going to have everyone line up. You will place your $3 in cash into the Bag of Holding, in exchange for a nametag. This nametag will have your Tumblr name or whatever other name you go by (and don’t mind possibly showing up in photographs on the internet). Once everyone has their nametag and I have everyone’s cash, we will walk down there. At the end of dinner, the cash will then be given to the waitstaff as a tip.

The nametags are simply a fun way to enforce The List, rather than reading off names from a literal list. I figured that it would be helpful, especially if you have never been to one of these events and don’t know anyone there, to know how to refer to everyone/have an easy way to get tumblr names from everyone.

When you RSVP, please tell me what name you want on your nametag/the nametags of anyone else in your group.

I’m keeping the rules pretty much the same, though by raising the age limit I’m hoping that I won’t have to tell y’all how to behave. ;]

These are pretty straightforward and largely common sense, but will make things a lot smoother if everyone follows them. They also include other bits of information that are not actually rules but that are still relevant (such as health and safety information, etc.). They are listed in no particular order.

- Well-sealed paint is allowed. If you have paint on your arms, legs, or other places that may rub off on furniture, please either bring something to protect the location (a long-sleeve shirt, a towel to sit on, makeshift armsocks made of a pair of tights with holes cut out for hands, etc.) or remove your paint before attending, no matter how well sealed it is. PAX is fine, as well as paint restricted to chest/neck/face/etc. This is on the honor system (I trust y'all), I just don’t want our group to leave smears of grey all over a place of business, so I want people to be extra careful.

- The walk is short (~4 blocks to the OSF), but if the walk is an issue at all, please let me know, and I can see about ride arrangements.

- Oversized or realistic props are not allowed. Small props are fine (say, knitting needles, etc.), but large props that may not fit into the building or realistic guns and such (something that may frighten non-convention restaurant patrons) might pose a problem. If you need a place to stash props before the event, or think you might need a place to stash props, message me and we can work something out. Same goes for oversized horns – sorry Condesce and Nitram cosplayers. This is simply a size and safety issue. Also, items not allowed at SacAnime or illegal in the state of California are not allowed.

- You are responsible for your own money and ride arrangements. Please don’t try to skip out on bill or rely on luck and the kindness of others when it comes to rides.

- Please try to order at least something, out of respect for the restaurant. Even if you just order a soda or side, that’s still something. This is primarily a dinner event taking place at a busness. (By the way, bread, soup/salad, and dessert is included with the price of an entree, so you get a lot of food for your money. I’m not saying that everyone should split a meal, but I’m saying that the portions are rather large. ;] Just don’t mooch off of the bread brought for the whole table without ordering for yourself.) Also, since this will be a large group at a sit-down restaurant, you should budget a tip for the probably overworked and underpaid waitstaff.

- A small note on tabs – to make it easier on the staff and yourselves, please keep track of who is on each tab. We will likely have separate tabs rather than a large communal one. We will also likely make a list at the start of the dinner of who is on each tab to make it easiest on staff. Don’t combine yourself with strangers and then worry about them not paying – stick with groups you know. Bring cash if possible.

-  Stick together in the group or a group as much as possible on the walk there and back. The area isn’t super sketch, but it is still a downtown area at night. It won’t be dark when we walk there, but may be on the way back. Try to bring a personal light if at all possible. I’ll probably have a few glowsticks so I and others can help manage the group on the trip both ways. The safety of attendees is my primary concern.

- The usual “behave yourselves” rule. Try not to get too loud or disturb other restaurant patrons. Volume level can sometimes be a bit of an issue at this event, but I’ve (thankfully!) never had any other behavior issues. I know everyone is excited and there’s a big group, but try to keep it down, okay? (This also goes for the usual “please act like a normal human being who has been socialized in our society” type warnings, which I feel like I have to say, but again, I haven’t had issues. The group is usually pretty chill.)

- If you have any other health or safety concerns, please message me so we can discuss them privately.
