What would mad max inspired adagio blends be like?
(I had probably too much fun coming up with these. I may actually have to make them now. Anybody interested in doing some label art maybe?)
Furiosa | gunpowder green + toasted mate + silver needleGreen tea base for the Green Place of the Many Mothers, gunpowder green because she trusts guns more than she trusts most people. The toasted mate is a strong, dark flavor, almost like coffee. And silver needle adds a lightness, a flare of hope.
Max | lapsang souchong + blood orangeHis name is Max. His world is fire and blood.
The Splendid Angharad | pomegranate green + spearmint + white cucumberThis tea is all about hope and the promise of a new life. Pomegranate is the fruit of knowledge, because Angharad is the one who spurs the other women to claim their freedom. Spearmint is associated with mental acuity, and white cucumber tea is both light and earthy, and very refreshing.
Toast the Knowing | genmai cha + white chaiGreen tea with toasted rice because I can’t resist a pun. But also because it’s a very solid, rich tea. The white chai is light and complex, with an unexpected twist and a zing. This tea covers a lot of bases, just like Toast’s knowledge.
Cheedo the Fragile | vanilla green + white grapefruit + peppermintCool and refreshing and deceptively simple. It seems like a sweet tea, but there’s the sudden sour of the grapefruit and the cool kick of the peppermint. Do not underestimate.
The Dag | rhubarb green + foxtrot + fruit medleyLots of green and growing things in this one. Flowers, fruit, leaves: plants of all kinds. This is like a garden growing in your mouth. The flavor combination is slightly unexpected, but really refreshing.
Capable | iron goddess of mercy (ti kuan yin) + white eternal springIron Goddess of Mercy could practically be Capable’s title (and now I’m imagining Nux actually calling her that in his head, oops), so I really couldn’t resist. The white eternal spring tea is light and sweet, but it has deep roots.
Nux | pu erh hazelberry + chestnut + yunnan noirA really rich, dark, and yes, a bit (or a lot) nutty cup of tea that’s surprisingly sweet at the heart.
