the #CFSBF stands for Cosmere Fandom Still Best Fandom, is the name of our mibbit chatroom, and the general fandom tag. It started out as one person's tag and has since spread. 

Hey everyone, I'm going to start building the Cosmere Fandom FAQ/Starter Pack, with helpful links we can send to for newbies to address common (nonspoilery) misconceptions and fandom norms before people get caught in the harsh spotlight of Tumblr's callout culture. First step is the questions, so please add some.

In terms of interacting with the fandom I shall promote the Feels HQ chatroom which is a great place to meet and chat to other Creampuffs, in my opinion. Not to mention that I'm 110% certain that if you fire an ask to literally anyone in this fandom they will be happy to chat if they can :)

This is the starter pack for the Sherlock fandom. It was compiled for those new to the fandom, as well as those who are familiar with it but may not have maximised their experience.

RULES

Don't post anything from the Thriller video. It's my understanding that the video wasn't supposed to be released to the public but someone managed to grab it and now it's on YouTube.

Don't post or reblog pictures of Martin Freeman's kids. He and Amanda Abbington try very hard to keep their private life and their kids' lives separate from their public life.

Don't tweet fandom creations to anyone involved with the production of Sherlock. This means any of the actors, Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, Sue Vertue, Amanda Abbington, etc. "Fandom creations" refers to fanart, fanfiction, memes, etc. As an overall rule, use common sense.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (ACD), the author of the original canon, does not care what anyone does with his characters. In fact, he hated Sherlock. Keep this in mind before arguing that ACD would have minded if someone in the fandom twisted the characters a certain way: "You may marry him, murder him, do what you like to him."

As with any fandom, don't tag hate. If you do, you've no right to get upset about the backlash.

FANDOM JOKES/MEMES/&C.

John and Jam - John likes jam quite a bit.

Slenderlock - A crossover between Slenderman and Sherlock.

Hipster Freeman - Martin Freeman is a hipster.

Shurluk and Jawn - Botched nicknames for Sherlock and John.

Anderson's Dinosaur Fetish - Anderson has a dinosaur fetish.

Hammerhead Shark - Sherlock's cheekbones/eyes/etc look a bit like a hammerhead shark.

Sherlock and Bees - In ACD canon ("His Last Bow"), Sherlock retires to a small farm in Sussex Downs and becomes a beekeeper. He also writes a book about it, called "Practical Handbook of Bee Culture, with some Observations upon the Segregation of the Queen". There is also a filmed interview with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in which he talks about getting letters from fans addressed to Sherlock himself, and how one of the letters mentioned that since the woman who wrote the letter had talent in segregating the queen, it would make her Sherlock's ideal housekeeper (4:44).

Sherlock's Military Kink - Originated from reapersun's comic referencing the scene in the Hounds of Baskerville where John pulls rank and Sherlock smirks.

Fans of Benedict Cumberbatch are called Cumberbitches or Benaddicts. Fans of Rupert Graves are called Gravesdiggers. Fans of Andrew Scott are called Mascotts.
