HELLO! Welcome <3 This certainly is my thing - I'm always available and happy to answer any and all questions when it comes to Tarlos content.

First up, a warm welcome to the Tarlos fandom - we are happy to have you here! I expect that from your ask you have only recently watched the show. I hope you enjoyed :) Usual caveats apply - check tags, warnings, ratings etc. Not all blogs/fics/content is going to be for everyone, and that's totally okay!

Before I get into my rambling/screaming about how much I love other people and their work, I should also say that I never have enough time to consume all the Tarlos content that I would like to, and so this list can never capture every amazing person on this site. If you check out the #fic rec friday tag on my blog, you should find all the round ups for all past Fic Rec Fridays, where people from all over the fandom (and other fandoms!) recommended some truly amazing content.

Also shout out to @rmd-writes for letting me appropriate some of your own recs on a similar ask.

So I found a new fandom and I need to drag everyone with me- get in the car, we're going on an adventure

So I was browsing Netflix, as one does. And I absently started watching an anime called The Idhun Chronicles. and y'all. I finished 2 seasons in one night. It looks a little generic from the Netflix summary but holy shit it's amazing.

Here are some reasons you should watch this (no spoilers)

the love triangle! It’s actually not totally stupid!! I hate love triangles and I loved this one and how it was resolved

It feels like fanfic, and I mean this in the best possible way. It feels like you’re walking in to the middle of a story, and there’s a whole world that you only get to see part of, which I love. Like there’s all this hinting at the religion of this world, and the cosmology, and history, but they’re not going to spoon-feed you info just to tell you- it comes up naturally as needed and felt super “real” emotionally

The way they handle the language issues is quick but really satisfied my “why are these characters from another world speaking English Spanish” issues that I have with a lot of stuff

It’s pretty short (10 episodes total) but they cram a lot into there!

revelations that are strongly hinted but still SUPER satisfying when revealed

The animation is really pretty! Season 2 more than season 1

Dragons! Not just one kind of dragon- TWO Kinds (one kind is Not Really A Dragon in canon but if you saw pics you would not know this)

Unicorns as a force of, not exactly GOOD, mostly just Randomness

I do have some critical notes re: diversity. Every main character was Pretty Fucking White, except for one character who problematically changed skin tone for monster-related reasons, which, yikes. And I didn’t see a single canonical queer person in the show, (I felt like maybe the two dude mentor characters were hinted to be in a relationship? But that might be my own interpretation, and we deserve better than subtext) Ultimately I still enjoyed it, but I acknowledge that it has issues that could spoil the whole thing it for some people and I want to make that clear.

What counts as a Fandom Rec? The reccer must state, in their own words, why they rec the fannish creation. It can be a single sentence but just a "I rec this" is not enough. Mentions in a fandom newsletter or links to stories/artworks without an explanation why they're being recommended do not count as recs, either.
