Send â for a training headcanon. (word count: 216)
mirae trained for a relatively short one year considering she hadnât had any formal experience in singing, dancing, or performing before she made her debut. if she hadnât debuted that fast, there was a good chance she wouldnât have debuted at all, though, since she would have eventually had to go running back to her parents with her tail between her legs since she was wearing her motherâs patience thin.
in the year she trained, mirae really gave everything she had. she spent countless sleepless nights practicing in gold starâs dance studios until it was morning and she had to go to her vocal class and start her day all over again and she never skipped a training day, even when she was ill or injured. it made her stand out and was what got her to debut in the long run, but it definitely made the pressure for her to have a successful debut that much higher. selene would be gold star mediaâs first group, so even though they had bang sunyoungâs name behind them, there wasnât a precedent to know if that was enough to hit big.
mirae would consider her year of training under gold star to be the most stressful time of her life, but it made her who she is today.
Send ⥠for a social media headcanon. (word count: 200)
mirae is very active on social media. she has a personal, private instagram, but she often uses her public instagram account more than that one anyway. she sees it as a self-promotion tool, so she understands it as a very important part of her career she needs to keep up with. sheâs quite social media savvy, though not quite to the level of her younger sister (who is an influencer). other than instagram, her most used social media is instagram, since she has had her own personal channel there for almost a year and a half now.
miraeâs instagram has gained a lot of followers in the aftermath of squid game. her followers more than doubled and sheâs built a much bigger international base in her followers. sheâs still waiting to see when it starts to drop off, but she sort of wishes her youtube subscribers had grown as much. her youtube subscribers have grown a lot, too, but not as much as her instagram, and her youtube is where she posts content showcasing her skills and not just her face, so she believes it to be a better representation of any long-term career effects it will have on her.
Send â for a headcanon about misconceptions fans or the public have about my muse. (word count: 203)
for the most part, up to this point, i think mirae has done a good job of shaping her image to be how she wants to be seen. sheâs someone who likes to have control over that sort of thing, so she usually does. gold star obviously has the power to overrule her and mediaplay her into whomever they want her to be, but so far there hasnât been too much conflict since miraeâs image has paid off.
but the main misconception i think fans and the public have about mirae is that sheâs sort of inhumanly secure in herself. she is a very confident person and sheâs worked hard for that to be genuine and most of it is not put on. that said, she is still very sensitive about certain things and is not above insecurity. her pride controls her a lot, and that makes her prone to flare-ups of jealousy and a wounded ego when her pride is compromised. a lot of people would perceive her as someone things just bounce off of because sheâs so confident in herself. she would like people to think that about her, but the truth is that she hasnât achieved that superhuman skill yet.
Send ⌠for a career goal headcanon. (word count: 201)
mirae has career goal after career goal. she wants to win a grand prize as an individual actor; sheâd like to become a household name. above all, she just wants un-shatterable stability in her career for guaranteed financial stability. she realizes truly un-shatterable stability is something that is not possible, though, so iâd say her biggest career goal is getting as close to that as she can.
itâs not the career goal sheâd state in an interview because it doesnât make for a fun answer, but itâs the driving force behind pretty much all of her other goals. wanting success in so many different fields is very much something she pursues because she has an earnest interest in all of those fields, but it wouldnât feel so dire that she finds that success in each of them if financial stability wasnât so important to her. being multi-talented is good for her image, but itâs also a way to diversify her safety net. it goes beyond a career goal into a life goal. ultimately, everything she does in her career comes down to the desire to have a strong foundation under her since she and her family never had that growing up.
Send â for a future (post-idol life) headcanon. (word count: 267)
miraeâs true post-idol life might not come until sheâs physically too old to perform on stage anymore, so iâll talk about her future when being an idol stops being her main job. by the time selene comebacks slow down and theyâre coming back only once every few years at best and her solo releases are the same, mirae will probably be working primarily as an actress. by this point, i see her as having established herself enough as an actress that she has her pick of scripts and will have probably transitioned to mostly doing films. she wonât give up dramas completely, but sheâll only come back to them when something really compelling grabs her. though sheâll be established at this point, sheâll continue to work at a rate of two projects a year or three projects in two years because she wouldnât be comfortable with having a lot of free time; sheâd feel like sheâs wasting it. sheâd continue to do brand deals and would maybe come out with her own line of clothing or accessories or cosmetics, maybe all three.
sheâll probably settle down into marriage around her late thirties, probably with some ceo or someone from a rich family who sheâs attracted to for (once again) the stable lifestyle they can have by combining their finances, and start a family shortly after, but sheâll take off only as much time as she needs to for that before going back to work. sheâll continue to act into old age. i donât see her ever retiring unless she becomes physically incapable of working for some reason.
Send â„ for a headcanon about something my muse likes about being an idol.
there truthfully isnât a lot mirae doesnât like about being an idol. sheâs successful in her field, and itâs given her a much better life than she had before it, but i think what she likes the most deep down is that sheâs good at it. being an idol isnât the only thing sheâs good at necessarily, but it does come very naturally to her. she would have likely felt the same about modeling if sheâd been able to have a career trajectory in it similarly to her trajectory in selene, and acting is similar but she has to think about it more than she does performing.
mirae likes having control, especially over herself and her own life, if i havenât made that clear, and somewhat oxymoronically to all of the control gold star media has the ability to exercise over her life, she feels more in control as an idol than she thinks she would if sheâd done something else. mirae hadnât had the connections or money to secure a powerful job position for herself, so if she wasnât in the entertainment or fashion industries, sheâd probably working a job like her older brother, where sheâs viewed as little more than an inconsequential cog in a machine. the idol industry may be about selling a product as any other, but as a public figure, she has fans and with that comes leverage of her own.Â
Send â for an airport fashion headcanon. (word count: 221)
mirae is known for her sense of fashion, so she makes sure not to disappoint at the airport. thereâs a place for everything and she isnât showing up at the airport in a stage outfit or a red carpet outfit, but sheâs acknowledged for her fashionably casual style when sheâs at the airport. she wears a lot of pants and crop tops at the airport for comfort; you could say itâs her uniform, but she approaches it in different ways. sometimes, she wears a crop top under a tracksuit for a sportier look, while she dresses it up other times with a long coat over jeans and a neutral top. it isnât anything too eye-catching, more off-duty model looks, but sheâs acknowledged for rarely slacking.
thereâs been a number of occasions where she became a subject of talk for not wearing a bra at the airport. it depends on the day whether she wears one or not because there are days a plane ride in a push-up bra just isnât what sheâs looking for and she just doesnât wear a bra all the time in her off-time anyway. sheâs a firm believer in putting effort into her style at all times, but a plane ride is the type of situation where comfort is of utmost importance in tht effort as well.
Send â for a bad fan experience headcanon. (word count: 232)
selene is lucky in the sense that they appeal more to the general public than they do a passionate fanbase. that isnât to say they donât have any passionate fans; they certainly do, and there are many faces mirae recognizes because of the frequency with which they come to fan signs and concerts. there arenât many who dedicate their entire lives to following selene around and invading their privacy, though. in miraeâs experience, their fans are more mature and understanding of the boundary between them than that. the bad experiences tend to come from the âfansâ who have read into some of the sexier concepts selene has done to mean that they can be sexualized against their will whenever it suits the audience. (mirae is also aware this isnât solely because selene has done sexier concepts. groups with âinnocentâ get it just the same as selene, but mirae has heard these âfansâ use the âexcuseâ of their sexy concepts.)
so rather than one particular bad fan experience, miraeâs handful of bad fan experiences have come from attempts to film upskirt from below the stage during performances or down her shirt via concealed cameras during fan signs. any time sheâs noticed it happening, sheâs tried to alert staff so that the person could be removed from the premises, although that hasnât always been possible, and those instances have for sure been the worse.
Send â for an audition headcanon. (word count: 216)
mirae actually planned to join gold star media in their modeling department, not their idol division. sheâd been let go from her previous modeling company and had been intent on finding a new one. a staff member at her old company had tipped her off to gold star media auditions and sheâd shown up for the model auditions, but theyâd asked her on the spot if she could dance and sing. she hadnât prepared anything, so she sang a capella and danced to a popular soloistâs song she knew the choreography and lyrics to well enough. the audition wasnât anything sheâd be proud of nowadays and sheâs quite happy itâs never surfaced online or on a variety show, but her ability to hold a note and keep a beat at the same time was enough for gold star media to show even more interest in her as an idol trainee.
it was unlike mirae to be so unprepared, but sheâd gone in fully prepared for a modeling audition, not an idol one. changing her career path so abruptly seemed ill-advised until she actually got an offer to train. she doesnât regret auditioning or even the audition she gave at all since it got her in, but it does bother her that they caught her off guard.
Send â for a variety headcanon. (word count: 218)
mirae doesnât appear on variety as much as she probably could because she doesnât always like the position sheâs put in when she appears. in a group setting, itâs more diluted since the other members are present, but her âroleâ on variety often gets boxed into a sort of âbitchyâ role. this stems from her past variety appearances where she would play on her schtick of overconfidence. it plays well with fans, but in certain variety spaces, especially since theyâre often so male dominated, it gets a weirdly confrontational or even demeaning response. the schtick got her into some minor controversies in her earlier years, and while she didnât really care, she wishes people would have paid more attention to what she was saying than the way she said it. she didnât like to take shit from hosts the way they liked to give it out, and it didnât make her the most popular guest with some hosts who didnât like to be challenged on their way of doing things.
gold star sort of decided to steer her away from too much of a variety push to avoid a controversy that actually blew up and while sheâs not against appearing on the right show, sheâs perfectly fine with focusing on acting, modeling, and performing most of the time.
performance is pretty much inarguably miraeâs greatest strength as an idol. she doesnât make lists for the greatest idol dancers or vocalists as much as some others do, and when she does, it tends to be a result of the halo effect of her performance abilities. you wouldnât find mirae admitting that as readily, but the truth is that mirae is more of a great performer with above (idol) average dance and vocal skills than the paragon of purely artistic talent some of her more passionate fans like the paint her as. for instance, when her mushroom chocolate performance went viral, the comments were more about her captivating energy or her sexiness than being an impressive technical dancer. (the traits that make mirae such a good performer also lend themselves to her abilities as an actress. sheâs an expert at emoting with her body and face and can embody different characters with relative ease.)
over the years, mirae has improved both as a dancer and a vocalist and she enjoys both dancing and singing, but performing will always win out as what she really enjoys. her youtube is a good example of this. sheâs done both dance and vocal covers, but theyâre almost always carefully planned to be a performance, with lighting, a specific location to emit a certain vibe, and a specially chosen styling. she loves the spectacle of it all and she honestly wouldnât be so dedicated to it if she could only do covers with a webcam in a practice room. it wouldnât give her the same adrenaline rush.
Send â for a non-idol talent/skill headcanon. (238 words)
most of miraeâs skills, and personality traits for that matter, lend her to a career in entertainment. thatâs part of why she was so adamant about going into entertainment against her mothersâ wishes; she sensed it was one of the only avenues she could be both successful and happy in, whereas if she studied medicine or law like her mom wanted or became a civil servant like her older brother, she would have struggled a lot more. this is all to say that mirae doesnât really feel she has all that many talents outside of entertainment (performing, acting, modeling) to speak about. one area she does have a lot of natural talent in outside of idol life (even if it does help in being an idol as well) is that sheâs quite naturally athletic. she grew up playing all kinds of games and sports with her older brother and the neighborhood kids, so though her family could never afford for her to participate in any official sports team, she has very good body coordination, agility, and stamina that helps her start out a step above in any athletic endeavor she takes on. this helped her a lot in picking up dancing, but itâs also fed into many of her hobbies, from rock climbing to pole dancing. if mirae hadnât ended up in entertainment, she probably would have ended up with a career in fitness in some way eventually.
Send â for a good fan experience headcanon. (238 words)
save for some of the creepy men sheâs encountered who donât respect boundaries, most of miraeâs fan experiences have been positive. sheâs very aware she never would have gotten to where she is if selene didnât have people supporting them and despite her âcoolâ image, she never hesitates to express appreciation to fans who express love to her. this, combined with the relatively smaller size of seleneâs dedicated fanbase compared to their level of fame, has created a mostly positive artist-fan relationship from miraeâs perspective.
one experience that does stand out to her is when a young fan that had showed up to several fan signs, enough for her to recognize her face, became an idol herself and they crossed paths at an event. the fan had often brought up during their brief conversations that she viewed mirae as a role model of what she wanted to be one day, so when the fan actually followed in her footsteps and made her debut, mirae was deeply touched that she could inspire someone to chase after their dreams, since she knows how much bravery that can take. unfortunately, the fanâs group only saw a moderate level of success and ceased activities, but mirae checked up on the fan often enough to know sheâs an instructor at a dance and vocal academy now and seems happy, so she regards the whole thing as one of her most memorable fan experiences.
send â for a good fan experience headcanon. (203)
as someone who tries to focus on the positive things rather than the negatives ones, minhee thinks he has way too many good fan experiences. there were some that were better than the rest, but they were good fan experiences never the less. however, he will forever remember the first fan letter he got at an early fansign, before they really hit big. he is the sentimental type, so receiving such a gift at such an early stage of their career really made him appreciates letters the most.Â
it was always the little heartfelt messages that get to him and to this day he makes sure to get as many of them and read them, sometimes getting side eyes from their staff at how many he insists on taking home. he doesnât really care about the looks they give them, he really couldnât care less, but from that first letter onwards, minhee refuses to leave any letter behind if he can take it. sometimes he is seen sneaking behind their managers to grab a letter form the fans waiting for them at events. his attempts are almost always successful, which does leave him with a rather warm and bubbly feeling on the inside.

after his brother got accepted in dimensions, minhee wasnât exactly eager to get signed, however, he didnât have much of a choice. his mother started pushing him more and more to audition and it got more and more painful with every failed audition. sometimes he would fuck up on purpose because he didn't want to keep doing this, or he would do something completely different just to piss off his mother. she usually just dropped him off and waited outside the building so she never saw what stupid shit he would pull off. he just kept quiet because it was just easier to keep quiet and listen to his mother rant about the next audition, than say he was done with this obsession of hers. however, eventually, he gave dimensions another go and got accepted.
in the beginning he really did think they only accepted him because they could use him and his brother, put them in the same group to get more fans in. which honestly, wouldn't have worked either way because minhee and his brother hated each other with a burning passion. they would be practically at each other's throats 90% of the time, he isn't sure how they would even be in front of the cameras and act like a normal pair of loving siblings.

being on stage and looking at the crowd. he doesnât just like it, minhee absolutely loves it. it gets his blood pumping and his adrenaline to sky rocket. he can honestly overlook almost anything negative about being an idol, just because of that feeling he gets when he is on stage. there were times when it would take some coaxing for minhee to get on stage, but once he got on there, he remembered why he pushed through. its a one of a kind feeling and it will be his number two reason he will say in interviews, the fist one being his fans, because he knows he will get some comments about his morals or whatever. he also likes the fact that he is allowed to express himself through polarisâs music, to be able to choreograph quite a few dances that are seemed as staple pieces in their discography, also one of his favorite things.
however, he thinks there are very few things that can induce such a rewarding feeling like being on stage in front of their fans, hearing the cheers, the fanchants, the songs being sang back at them. its something he thinks is the most rewarding thing and the thing that should be liked the most amongst the other benefits and achievements idols get, such as awards, records and anything else in between.
send â for a future (post-idol life) headcanon. (203)
he would be a choreographer. he has set his mind on it, that once his span of an idol ends, he would be dancing because thatâs practically the only thing he knows how to do well. it would be an easy transition, to choreograph for other groups or just work in a dance studio. he plans on opening his own dance studio, where idols can come if they want to rent out a room, or join a class or something. minhee would probably give dance classes there, teach old polaris choreographies or dances that never got to see the light of day. he plans on flying out to different countries and give lessons there.
he might go to university to get a degree in something, for the sake of getting one, however, he isnât entirely sure about that. he was never the studying type, but he thinks it would be a nice achievement. he once joked that he would go to sopa and become a teacher there, but he is horrible with kids, so he thinks that is a bad call. so for now, he his little post idol life dream is to open a dance studio and continue to dance and choreograph.Â
minheeâs whole training period is about 4 years, which were filled with a lot of emotions really. both positive and negative. however, he really did find his love for dancing during those years. there was that one dance coach, who despite pushing minhee to his very limits, let it be stamina, flexibility and a lot of other things, never actually stopped minhee from expressing himself through dance. he is, to this day, the main reason minhee actually choreographs. it took him a few years to actually be happy with how he was approaching dancing and pushed himself out of his comfort zone. it was thanks to that specific coach that minhee got confident in his skills and continued to improve, being proud to hold the main dancer title in polaris.
however, when it came to singing it was pretty much the opposite. he never was huge on singing, his  mother never really pushed any singing lessons on him, so he was rather behind when he joined dimensions. it took him years to learn how to actually take care of his voice and develop his technique to a level where he could be called a lead vocalist, but even so it only came from a lot of negative feedback during his trainee years. especially during their survival show with platinum. he remembers how poorly he treated his voice back then, ignoring a lot of pointers and feedback as well, which well.. resulted in a lot of issues for him in the future and he really does regret not listening earlier.Â
send â for a voice-related (singing or rapping) headcanon. (234)
as mentioned above, minhee really did take poor care of his voice during his trainee and early idol days. from straining, to lack of proper technique, to voice cracks on stage, to lip-syncing controversies. he's been through it all until he realized that he can't really keep this going. despite being a lead singer in polaris, he never claimed to be a good singer, often having struggled early in their career and never listening to their vocal coaches until it was really beginning to look like it was too late to actually start caring. a few stern talks, an doctors appointment or two, minhee was told he will start to experience irreversible damage unless he started taking care of himself, which was around the time when polaris fame started to ramp up.
so after getting horrified at the doctors, he finally started taking care of his voice the same way he started taking care of his body. he started to put more effort into it, actually listening to what he was told and there were drastic improvements. to an extend he does regret not taking care of his voice earlier, because his passion for singing significantly improved when there were no side effects of improper technique and singing was getting easier. he stopped forcing himself to do things on the go and ended up actually working on gradually improving to where he is today.Â
send ⌠for a career goal headcanon. (239)
during his time with polaris, minhee has gotten to achieve his biggest goal, which was to choreograph outside of his comfort zone for polaris. over the years, he has done a lot of genres, different dances and continues to work on doing something new, showing a new side, explore and continue to improve. despite his little personal slump, it hadn't stopped him from dancing and working on himself as a dancer and choreographer, however, he has found new career goals.
the first one is to start choreographing for other groups. he has always been interested in choreographing for female groups, as he likes to push himself out of his comfort zone, however, he thinks there are a lot of boy groups he could be able to choreographs for them as well. some would be in line with what he has done before, but he only sees it as a way to prove himself that he is just as good of a choreographer for polaris as he can be for other groups.
recently, the idea of going solo has been very present in his mind, but he still hasn't entirely looked into it. as he wants to make it everyone's business that he is in a very successful group, thriving both in the domestic market as well as in the western one, minhee thinks it would be a step in the right direction.
Send â for a future (post-idol life) headcanon. ( 264 words )
this is probably the most difficult to answer in hyojungâs perspective because she doesnât know what she would be if she wasnât an idol or just a celebrity in general. sheâs currently in the middle of going through a mid-life crisis for this exact reason. sheâs been in the industry since she was 16, training since she was 15 so sheâs been doing this for 15-16 years. this is the only life that she knows right now, and sheâs not sure if she has an identity if she isnât seleneâs hyojung or actress jung hyojung. this life is busy and unsteady at times, but itâs the only one sheâs lived, and she has absolutely no clue what would happen if it got stripped away.Â
but of course, that doesnât stop her from thinking of the what ifâs. hyojung is someone that would have wanted to get married pretty early (though thatâs obviously not happening as an idol). she loved her family and the protection they provided for her, and she would have wanted to provide the same for someone she loved as well. though that would have been conditional too. the idea of marriage is nice to her, but she would have only pushed for it if she met someone that gave her such thoughts. on another note, sheâs not great with babies but again, if she met someone she felt so strongly for, sheâd probably just have them because it seems like the normal thing to do. this is all saying that once hyojung retires, sheâll probably become some sort of house mom.
