I’m waiting for yarn for another project but since I can’t do sitting without knitting I started on another shawl/wrap. This winter I’ll be the most stylish woman that never goes anywhere. 🤣 Oh well, I enjoy making them and I’ll be sure to wear them even if it’s just around the house. This pattern is Winter Sea shawl by Liz Abinante, Free on Ravelry. The yarn is Red Heart Unforgettable In Cappuccino. This yarn is so ridiculously soft, it’s like knitting with clouds! Here’s the Solar Flares shawl by DROPS Designs after blocking and being modeled by yours truly. 😂🤣😂 It was so big and warm I wrapped it all around my head and neck to see if it’ll work well in the dead of winter and I’m happy to report it will! 🤣 ❄️ ⛄️ . Pattern if free on Ravelry and the yarn was given to me and is Red Heart Super Saver in Primary colorway. I’ve heard this color is now retired. Ty said it reminds him of those old seat covers you could buy for trucks, which inspired Chance to ask me to knit seat covers for his truck seats. No, go away! So rude. 🙄😂🙄 . Since this yarn is so stiff as is I’m attempting to soften it by rubbing hair conditioner all over it and letting it soak. Then I’ll just add it to the next load of laundry and the internet folks assure me it’ll come out softer. I timed myself and it took exactly one hour to do this bind off. Now I need to weave in a few ends, steam block it, the wash it to hopefully make it softer. I’m still not sure what I’ll be doing with it but I’ll most likely be keeping it for myself. Just blocked the Point The Way shawl by DROPS Design, free pattern on Ravelry. I used this as a stash busting project and gathered up my leftover bits of fingering weight yarns and tried to make blends after about every inch of solid. I’m surprised how much I like it, I’d have never selected these colors purposely but I think they wound up looking pretty good together. A few of the yarns never got used as the pattern ended before I got to them, and four of the yarns were used completely. I still have lots left so they’ll be for another project (maybe) down the road. . The video shows the color blending, some more subtle than others. I started and ended(small end) with the same yarn. . I swear, I’m wearing this once the first leaf falls off a tree! Started on a Point The Way shawl br DROPS Designs, free pattern on Ravelry. I’m using a vast assortment of leftover bits of fingering weight yarns from my stash. I’m not following any planned color design, just trying to do a casual blend every inch or so. I’m not sure I’ll use all the colors either, but I have them available in case I want to. Just put in a lifeline before starting on the lace section. If I screw up the lace part, it’ll be easy to rip it back to the lifeline and not lose all the work up until that point. . One of my knitting groups on FB has started a fall shawl knit along with members to any of a variety of patterns, both free and paid, for both novice and experienced knitters. . I couldn’t decide which of the beautiful patterns to choose from so I printed off all the free ones and figured I’d stash dive in my yarn to see what one I had yarn for and let that make the choice for me. Unfortunately, I had enough yarn in my stash to do ALL of them! 🙄🤣 So I had to decide after all and sekk ok acted Nurmilintu by Heidi Alander on Ravelry. . It calls for light fingering weight yarn but I chose two lace weight yarns and I’m holding them double to make it. The solid brown is from a mill end bag with no label of manufacturer nor fiber.
