Damn... I really loved this book. It was just so good and all the damn feels! This book was dark, twisty, and everything felt emotionally raw. Most of this book was gloomy, but there were some rather interesting bright spots as well. I loved the way Lila and Alucard were paired up. They made a pretty fantastic (and sarcastic) duo. Who doesn’t love a sarcastic pirate captain and a snarky thief? Kell, and to a certain extent Rhy, was restless. Most of the gloom throughout the book stemmed from him. He has this resigned and depressed air about him. It’s like he was walking on eggshells all the time with no reprieve. He was so changed from the Kell we met in Darker Shades. It was heartbreaking to see how everyone treats him after what happened. They treat him as a traitor, a prisoner in a guided cage, a monster, someone to be feared. My heart really did break for him in the last few chapters of this book. I was nearly in tears by that last one. I feel as though I have been on a long and emotionally charged journey with all of these characters and it was worthwhile. I am giving this book the full five out of five stars it deserves. #alwaysmaketimetoread #book #books #bookstagram #bookaddict #booklover #booknerd #bookworm #bookish #bookclub #bookishadventures #read #reading #readabook #readingaddict #readingadventures #goodreads #goodbook #putabookonit #literaryadventures #instabook #instaread #instabookclub #fallintoabook #fallreading #adarkershadeofmagic
