Capture the flavors of fall with this delightful marmelada recipe, featuring a mix of seasonal fruits and warm spices. Perfect for spreading on your morning toast or incorporating into your favorite recipes.
Ingredients: 2 pounds mixed fall fruits such as apples, pears, quinces. 2 cups granulated sugar. 1 lemon juiced and zested. 1 cinnamon stick. 1/2 teaspoon cloves. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: Wash, peel, and core the fruits. Cut them into small, even-sized pieces. In a large pot, combine the prepared fruits, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to the pot. Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it thickens to a jam-like consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Remove the cinnamon stick and discard it. Transfer the hot marmelada into sterilized glass jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace at the top. Seal the jars tightly and process them in a water bath for 10-15 minutes to ensure proper preservation. Allow the marmelada to cool completely before storing it in a cool, dark place. Enjoy your homemade Fall Fruit Marmelada on toast, crackers, or as a delicious topping for desserts!
