4: which characters do you think will die in qoaad?-hopefully none of course but i’m not really sure who i think. cassie hasn’t even given us a number this time around which to me seems like either everyone or no one dies. i don’t think that tavvy, helen, or mark will die and while i think there’s a possibility of jules and emma dying today is one of the days where i don’t think they will so not them. this is a lame answer but like i said i’m in a good mood so i am therefore optimistic. maybe kieran will die who knows

11: do you think the cold peace will end?-not at all!! if anything the shadowhunters are heading towards a war with the faeries(at least those of the unseelie court) so that will just create more tension. if they do stop the cold peace with the seelie queen as thanks for her assistance against the king(if that’s how it plays out) i think that there is the possibility for there to be a stop to the cold peace, but there will still be heavy regulations. on the other hand, i think that a big part of cristina’s character arc will focus on the cold peace and it would suck if she made no leeway on it so that does give me hope that maybe it will end!!

16: have you any theories about why the riders of mannan recognize kit?-i think that kit’s mother is /somehow/ connected to faerie, or is a faerie, so that’s why!!

Aaaah Happy Birthday!! It’s 1am and I’m writing on my phone so I’ll try my best. Haline sounds good? I’m gonna change the wording of the sentence a bit, but the essence is the same :)

It was a mess. The whole thing was a fucking mess and Aline just wanted to throw a knife at every person, enemy or not, who came anywhere near her.

“Helen, come on. Come on, wake up,” she said, fighting off the tightness in her voice. She shook Helen’s shoulder, touched her face. She put a hand under her nose– she was breathing, but barely.

The sound of the battle behind her was deafening. She had managed to drag Helen’s limp body away from the middle of the action, but not too far. Just enough to find a comfortable position to sit Helen upright and press her now blood-soaked jacket to the wound on her side.

“Come on, please stay with me,” Aline said, hitting Helen’s cheek softly. She could feel her own face wet– from tears or blood, she didn’t know. Maybe both. “By the Angel, Helen Blackthorn, you have to wake the fuck up!”

Helen made a sound at the back of her throat, and Aline immediately pressed the cloth tighter. She put her hand against Helen’s cheek.

“Helen?”

Helen opened her eyes, just a little bit, but it was enough to make Aline break down with relief.

“Aline?” She heard Helen say faintly. She touched Helen’s face again, pushing her bloody hair back from her face. Helen winced “we have to– we have to get back, we–” she started to try to stand up, but cried out in pain and fell back down.

“You stupid idiot,” Aline said, cursing under her breath. She tightened the knot she’d tied around Helen’s thigh. “Are you fucking insane? We can’t go back to the battle, you’re going to bleed to death.”

Helen’s eyes widened, and she looked down at the blood soaking the fabric of her pants, as if noticing it for the first time.

“Shit.”

“Yeah, shit’s about right. I can’t leave you here, either, you’ll die.”

Helen looked up at Aline’s face in a way that made Aline blush and feel a warmth spreading inside her chest, despite the circumstances.

“What?”

Helen took a strand of Aline’s hair and put ir behind her ear. Her hand was trembling.

“You really are gorgeous,” she said, and smiled. “I wish–”

“No,” Aline interrupted, rage flaring inside her. “No. You don’t ‘wish’ anything. You’re going to shut up, take this goddamn jacket and hold it to your leg like your life depends on it– 'causeit does– while I get my stele. Then I’m going to put as many blood-replacing and healing runes on you as it takes to close that fucking wound up. When this hell is over, I’m going to kiss you so hard your lips are going to bruise. Okay?”

Helen looked stunned, and Aline felt herself turn red. But she wasn’t gonna back down, not now.

“Okay,” Helen muttered, a smile tugging at her lips, and replaced Aline’s hands on her jacket while she got her stele.

I haven’t read that many LGBT books, but from the ones I’ve read, these are my favorite (In no particular order):

1. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller: A retelling of the Illiad, told in first pov by Patroclus, about his and Achilles’s romance since they were kids. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking. 10/10 recommend.

2. Her Name In The Sky by Kelly Quindlen: This one is about a girl named Hannah who goes to a Catholic high school. She’s part of a big, popular group of friends. She also happens to be in love with her best friend- who’s also a girl. This book is really angsty and touches subjects like internalized homophobia in an extremely conservative environment, friendship, love, self-acceptance, etc. I cried during the whole book several times. It’s beautiful. This is like a 12/10.

3. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz: This one is beautiful. Absolutely, absolutely beautiful. It made me so soft. It’s the story of two 15 year old boys who meet during summer at the pool and become friends, and then that friendship starts to become something more as both boys start to discover themselves and the world around them. It’s incredibly deep and emotional. Oh also both boys are mexican, and the poc rep is incredibly good. It’s just gorgeous. 12/10 too. 

4. I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson: It’s about a girl and a boy who are twins. They’re super close at first, but then over the years they fall out and stop speaking. It follows the twins through the years, Noah narrating when they’re 13, Jude narrating when they’re 16. The POVs switch, of course. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and possibly one of my favorite books. It’s really deep, too. I would recommend this 11/10.
