I know when it comes to the fandom, people usually like to make Dream anxious about his positive aura. Making him uncertain if people actually like him because the aura affects those around him.
I, however, like to take it in the opposite direction, where Dream is fully comfortable with his aura and accepts it as apart of himself. I like to make Dream know that people do like him for him, because he and the aura are one in the same.
Now, I do make Dream aware that this essentially gives him "pretty privilege" but at the same time I don't like the idea of Dream being ashamed of that. He doesn't want to abuse it, but he doesn't doubt himself about it either. There may have been a moment of doubt, perhaps when someone pointed it out to him when he was younger, but (at least in JumpVerse) he had a good support system to not allow that doubt to control him.
People can, and have, disliked him in the past and continue to dislike him, so that doesn't mean he's manipulating anyone just by being in the room.
I see Dream accepting his aura as a form of body positivity. Though he is aware that it gives him an advantage in socialization, that doesn't mean he should be ashamed of something that is integral to his being.
