#fall portrait

It is slowly starting to feel like fall out where I live! We've had a few cool days where we are able to turn off the AC and enjoy the windows being opened.

This time of year is always so bittersweet for me. I LOVE summer. I love the long days, the sunshine, being outside, the warmth. I love it all. But at the same time, I LOVE the fall xD So I am always conflicted. I wait so long for summer to come along and then watch our days get shorter... But then again, here comes the beautiful change of color on the earth, the cool breezes, the crisp air, sweater weather and candles. Coffee and Cider. My Birthday and then the holidays creep up. It's so exciting! I love September-December. I love the weather change, the fall season, the holidays. I love it so much.

So, Here's so a sad goodbye to summer but a happy welcome to fall 2023!

This empowering portrait session is so special to me because Ashley is such an incredible woman! Ashley and I have shot together a handful of times over the years. But, this was the first time I had the pleasure of shooting her by herself. She’s grown tremendously as a person. Ashley has upended her life multiple times on the journey to find herself and what would create her completely blissful…

I was thrilled to photograph the beautiful Porter family for their first official family portrait. They asked if they could also bring their dog Dottie along, as she is part of the family as well. We took a walk along the Bosque to catch the remaining fall colors. Between the falling leaves entertaining their daughter and the space to dash about for Dottie, it was a fun time for all!

Tis the season for gorgeous weather. Here in New Mexico the fall colors are fading in and out across the state. This is my absolute favorite season. You want to be outside all-the-time, doors and windows are left wide open, and no, we don’t have bugs that bother you. The light is also amazing outside at this time of year. Great light, great weather, great surroundings, it’s a perfect combination for outdoor portraits.
