The Samurai Theory/Prediction- (RWBY)
(This related to my last post on SINO Blake.(More of a revision/altered version.)
In the original fairytale, it (technically) wasnāt a broken heart the Beast died of. He apparently starved himself since he would rather die if he couldnāt see Beauty again when she left.Ā
āYou forgot your promise, and I was so afflicted for having lost you, that I resolved to starve myself, but since I have the happiness of seeing you once more, I die satisfied."
Now Adam has this sort of āSamurai themeā to him.Ā Aside from swordsmanship, he has this sort of ārestrained/discipline character,ā like a Samurai.Ā
Almost like he follows the Bushido code (The Way of the Warrior); The code of the samurai, stressing unquestioning loyalty and obedience and valuing honor above life.Ā A code to live by that was also based in a moral way of life. Discipline and Morality.
In Vol.3 ep. 7, Adam values his men and the main cause of the White Fang (a force of revolution not hire). Like the Bushido code of Honor, Duty, and Loyalty, he has all of that in fighting for his race and the White Fangās cause. Heās very passionate and proud about what he is fighting for. (His duty as whatever heās suppose to be in the WF, His loyalty to his men, the cause, and the honor of doing what he does for his people. etc. etc. u get the point.)Ā
In the Black Trailer, when he is fighting the Spider droid, he refuses to give up and fights until the spider droid is defeated. Like the code of Heroic Courage.Ā
So Adam has some Samurai qualities and inspiration in a way.Ā
Usually when a Samurai does something disgracefulĀ and bring shame upon them, they commit Seppuku. Which is suicide.
Seppuku is death byĀ cutting the abdomen or stomach open.Ā They do it to apologize for sh*t they did, and be forgiven for their shame which is atoned by death.
I mean,Ā cutting your stomach open is a way to starve yourself, just saying.
(Hereās the problem: We arenāt sureĀ (yet)Ā what Adam could be ashamed off. If he will.Ā But a few possibilities could be:
+He will eventually feel ashamed for hurting his partner.
+He will feel ashamed of what has become of him and the White Fang, maybe finally understand why Blake left and etc. But it would be too late, and SLICE.
Failing to lead his people and falling from grace, he might as well end his worthless life. (idk something like that.) )
(Just to add on with this, most adaptations of Beast has him portrayed with self esteem and suicidal issues. The original in which he was willing to slowly die (starve) if he could not see Beauty again, In the Disney version:
āThe commentary also implied during the wolf attack scene that he was suicidal, or at least did not value his life too strongly, due to the hopelessness of ever breaking the curse. This was further supported in the Marvel Comics where the Beast, after saving Belle and Chip after they were trapped in a very serious snowstorm, thanked Belle for saving his life, as her presence caused him to realize his own life was not "meaningless" after all.ā- (Link)
Thereās also this hopelessness theme that seems to always be present in the Beastās character:Ā
The hopelessness of breaking the curse and finding love.
The hopelessness of achieving peace between Humans and Faunus and having someone special back.Ā
As he said himself: ItāsĀ Impossible.
(Also there was that one time Cinder did an Enchantress thing on Adam and his White Fang division.)
(Itās like a 7/10 chance that Adam may have some troubles with his self worth and possible suicidal issues. Not just cause heās based off the Beast, but cause heās a Faunus too. Also his life and mindset is not in a good place rn. In fact, I would say itās worst than before.)
Now thatās only if him and Blake are inspired by the ORIGINAL fairytale of Beauty and the Beast. The Original and Disney are two significantly different stories and events. It may be Disney, but you never know, maybe theyāre just the Disney version, or maybe the Original, or maybe even both. I guess weāll just have to wait and see. ;-)
