Alright, Roxas, I know what you just walked in on is strange, but there has to be some reasonable explanation for what you’re seeing. Before jumping to any conclusions, let’s try to straighten out the information we have. With any luck, it might make whatever’s going on here make more sense than not at all.
Namine and I came to Olympus Colosseum as our next stop. Well, we tried to get to Olympus, but somehow we ended up in what is apparently the Underworld. Before we could even process that completely, we ran into a woman by the name of Megara being accosted by some Heartless. An unwelcome rescue and a short conversation later, we learned she’s a friend of Hercules, that hero Phil always talked about, and was putting herself in extreme danger trying to negotiate with the Lord of the Underworld on his behalf. Seizing the opportunity in front of us, I offered to go in her stead, a selfless act sure to create a memory of heroism and accomplish our objective here.
With Namine staying behind to look after Meg, I ventured into the depths of the Underworld on my own. Slicing through waves of Heartless was nothing new to me, but there was an unexpected distraction on the way. Without any kind of warning, Demyx of all people sprinted by me before vanishing into a corridor. Unsurprising as it may be, I can at least confirm the Organization is plotting something here as well. Armed with that new information, I continued on to the giant skull shaped tower where I assumed I would find the man in charge.
And with that, we’re all caught up. Now, let’s reexamine the situation from a calm and rational perspective and see what new insight might be gathered.
...Nope, I got nothing. A guy with fire for hair is fighting some other guy with what might be the largest sword I’ve ever seen. From Sora’s memories, I know the flaming one is who I’m looking for, but I’ve got absolutely nothing on the swordsman.
-Except an inexplicable gut feeling that I should trust him.
As the god of the dead struggles against the massive hunk of steel in his hands, the intensity of his flames dies down as he stares at me with confusion comparable to mine.
“And who are you supposed to be?!”
The distraction of my entrance is enough to provide the soldier the opportunity he needed to push his opponent back. Trusting my instincts, I rush to the black haired man’s side and draw my own blades to cover his flank. All too quickly, Hades recovers and flares back into a bright red as he begins to bear down on us both. Squaring up to do battle with a deity, I try to exchange some basic information with my newfound ally before things get too hectic.
“Hey there. I’m Roxas. I know this is sudden but, who are you and why did you think to pick a fight with a god?”
