With her arms wrapped firmly around his middle, Marie buried her face in the warmth of his chest. "Oh I've missed you so much," she sighed, never wanting to let go again. //yo she straight squealed seeing him on the dash//
He stood there, in her grasp, almost awkward. He was nearly a stranger. The first time theyâd met, the entirety of him was stretched taut, his eyes burning from sleep deprivation.Â
Under delicate digits of her fingers, nearly a stranger, so close to breaking apart in her grasp, shaking. His edges were worn, the days of their separation innumerable. His fear was disappearing from her life forever, and he nearly did, but sheâs still holding onto him.Â
Every time his eyelashes flutter, he remains in her grasp and is astounded that he still fits in her arms. It almost felt as if heâd never ran off. How long had it been?
How long had it been?
He pushed the thought aside, overwhelmed with the idea that he could still fit here, that she wouldnât turn him aside, even when heâd been gone forever. Even when the nightmares happened, or when he got jealous and began to loathe himself.Â
A familiar sheen covers deep sapphire eyes, leaving them glossy, like marbles.
â...I.. missed you more.â he croaked, chest heaving for just a moment. He felt older, but safer near this woman. Gently, he embraced her, ignoring the lump growing in his throat.
âI missed you so much more.â
