well well well if you insist hehehe *lays my thoughts out on the table*

(warning for angst and blood/injuries)

Foul Legacy accidentally injuring you severely. he had gotten caught up in the heat of battle, the surrounding enemies thrilling Childe enough that he completely relinquishes control to the Abyssal monster sharing his body, Foul Legacy roaring in horrid, bloodthirsty delight. that was the only part of the Abyss he liked- the fighting, the fear in his enemies' eyes as he tore them to shreds, and both he and Childe revel in the carnage surrounding them when the last body thumps to the ground. Foul Legacy exhales, a slow, pleased growl rumbling from his chest, standing in a sea of corpses. suddenly someone calls his name and he twists around lightning-fast, spear flashing across whoever dared approach him from behind

you stand, trembling, eyes blank and wide with horror as you stare at the gash across your stomach, then you, too, fall to the ground

"NO!"

Childe lunges for you, wrenching back control and catching your limp body in his arms, ignoring the searing pain of the sudden transformation. desperately he shakes you, begging for you to open your eyes, say something, wake up- anything. but you're silent, the only sounds being faint, shallow breathing, and Childe recoils when he sees your warm, crimson blood stain his hands. his head aches, sparking painfully as Foul Legacy screams in anguish, clawing at the confines of Childe's mind, trying to get out and hold you, cradle you gently, care for you-

"Shut UP! How could you do this- HOW COULD YOU?!" Childe knows he seems crazy, shouting at nothing, enraged, but immediately he feels Foul Legacy flinch violently, wails of grief cutting away to sobs and cries, feeling Childe's hatred cut through him like a knife. there's blood on his claws- your blood- and Foul Legacy begins to weep, muffling the sound in fear of Childe's fury

silently Childe lifts you from the ground, expression cold as ice and a hand pressing to your wound as he begins to trek to Liyue. he'll save you- he has to, for you're the one light in the dark night of his life and if he loses you, he might as well be nothing but a cold, calculating tool of the Tsaritsa. he'll get you to a doctor and nurse you back to health, and then he'll get rid of Foul Legacy- that damned Abyssal parasite- for good

if he had bothered to listen, Childe would've heard soft, shaky sobs, heartbroken and mournful, and a mantra in his head repeated over and over and over again

Yeah, I joined the LOK fandom… this year actually lol. ATLA was my favorite show when I was a kid and I wasn’t really willing to give LOK a chance and now that I am I’m trying to catch up on so much meta and stories. But Tarrlok is such an intense and fascinating character omg

Oh, cool—welcome!! LOK has its flaws, but I am super fond of its high moments, and I think the sort of character arc highlights reel that Tarrlok gets from early in the show to his end is definitely one of them.
