We are all in need of a reminder of how God works in life. Encountering the worst, and finding hope within it. In the midst of thousands of moments of despair, seeing, noticing, paying attention to what you’re ‘sittin’ in’… opening our eyes, as we gaze on the deepest darkness—oppressive, even—and perceiving the outlines of Light’s reality. And not only recognizing the light, but paying attention to the stunning, profound beauty that the Light silhouettes around us, that darkness. Keeping our gaze on the outlines of Light’s reality time enough to perceive that the dust that emanates from our situation refracts, reflects that Light so they fairly shimmer, ‘half on fire!’ To finally see what has already—always—been here. behold this – this Love God has for us. Gaze at it. Open your eyes! Shema—listen, pay attention! Notice that God’s love is ours. We belong to God—God’s heir, a perfect Love without conditions. We are God’s progenies. And that is what we are. Present, indicative. Right now, … Beloved, we are God’s children now; we don’t know what we will ultimately be yet. What we do know is this: God will be revealed, and we will be like God (future, indicative). Does that even compute?! When we can see God as God is—not as we create God in our own minds (and politics and fantasies). We can see God as God is—Creator who breathed, spoke a word and we came into being, in God’s very image and likeness. for we will see God as God is.” Look God in the eye, ‘face-to-face.’ Still, even now, we can see the beauty of light silhouetting even the deepest darkness. And this is what we do when we remember those who have died, the saints who came before us. The darkness of their loss—a black hole of loss, sometimes. In this Lenten season, I HAD to repost this oldie but goodie. What do YOU see, what is YOUR interpretation? #OpenYourEyes #EyestoSee #EarstoHear ... The Enemy doesn't want them to be together...because he knows that their life and their Love will free those whom he has enslaved. So he put them in this dilemma. She has the key to save him and change their situation. Regardless of how the Enemy was able to put them in this predicament, she STILL holds the key. Now she could give him the key and "set him free" but she doesn't trust him. She thinks if she gives him the key then he will use it for himself only and then leave her...to die! But he wants to save her regardless of their situation. He tries to stretch himself far and thin in order to save her to have her to hold her and to be with her forever. She does not believe this and he is powerless to change their circumstance by himself. Everything he has tried has failed and unfortunately it will never be enough. Not enough to make her trust him and not enough to reach her. He'd break his own chains if he could, but he simply can't. And even though she's the one dying, she has the most power. She could save them both but she would die before she trusts him.
