YIPPEE I was hoping someone would ask about that one!! I think it's one of the ones I'm most likely to finish lol
"Mom! The Dragon Maiden!" the girl shouts. A Hylian woman with warm brown hair turns to look at her. Paya's cheeks heat to a boiling point, and she sidesteps behind her own mother. A hand grasps hers, and her mother counters by stepping away from Paya and exposing her to the crowd. Her mother gives her hand a soft squeeze. Be nice. They're just tourists, she had said. They would leave tomorrow, when the festival ended, and the village would be at peace again. "You're so pretty," the Hylian girl says. "I bet you'll get to see the Light Dragon for real!" Paya's cheeks are still so hot, and the idea that someone can see her embarrassed makes it worse, but she bobs her head. "Thank you." She doesn't really want to see the Light Dragon. There hasn't been a sighting in years, but the thought of seeing some monstrous spirit with big eyes and big teeth scares her.
I feel the excerpt explains it pretty well! But tl;dr: little Paya gets to befriend a dragon

Something I whipped up today to sell as notebooks for a convention I’ll be vending at this autumn
I do understand why some people are a little disappointed that totk Zelda didn't stay a dragon, it would've made for some superb angst.
But like, lore wise I can understand why it had to be done.
What I mean is, well, think about it.
The Triforce is bound to these three specific souls, cursed in a loop of reincarnation.
If one of the souls is suddenly stuck in an immortal form, with their sense of self stuck in a state of sleep-like dormancy... Well, that sorta messes up the whole 'reincarnation' aspect of their prophecy/curse/what-have-you thing, wouldn't you say? (plus it would, like, destroy the very concept of a 'princess Zelda'. like, now that she no longer reincarnates, she'll never show up as a princess ever again down the line. Imagine that in a few centuries, the very concept of 'Zelda' is lost to time and erased from the story. no one remembers the Triforce of wisdom used to reside within a mortal hylian. no one remembers Zelda.)
Plus, Zelda's got the Triforce of Wisdom. Can't really utilise any wisdom if you can't actively think or communicate with the world- outside of occasionally flying down to help the next reincarnation of link fight ganon I guess?
