Did You Know?
Newborn babies don't produce tears when they cry until they're about 2-3 weeks old! This is because their tear ducts, which are responsible for producing the watery, salty tears we associate with crying, are still developing. In the very early weeks, a newborn's eyes might look wet, and they'll certainly make sounds, but you won't see actual tear droplets rolling down their cheeks.
Many people are unaware of this fascinating fact about infant development. Were you too?
