The next morning you woke up with sore bruises from all the dancing last night. Still in bed you looked through your phone looking for important notifications, but the only one which caught your eye was the one from Chris.
C : Morning beautiful! I'm so sore from last night!
Y/N : Me too :'(
C : How about a quick getaway to a spa and pamper ourselves?
You didn't expect the quick reply but you weren't complaining either!
Y/N : Sure. Just what I need. Maybe after we could take a walk down the Freedom Trail. Its been a while since I've been there.
C : You sure your legs can handle it?
Y/N : Positive :)
C : Well, you're going to have the time of your life cause you've got the best guide anyone could ask for!
Y/N : See you in a bit.
The thought of spending the day with Chris made you forget your bruises. Quickly dressed you headed downstairs.
"I thought you had a break from work. Don't make me ground you Y/N" your mom scolded while serving you hot pancakes and honey.
"No. I'm actually headed out with Chris. A little spa time and then a stroll through Freedom Trail!".
"I'm sorry say that again" your brother intervened.
"You heard it" you said smacking him with the newspaper on the table, turning a slight pink.
Everyone was more than happy that you were spending time on pampering yourself rather than sitting in front of a computer typing away emails. And that too with a man. That man being Chris made it even better.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You and Chris decided to meet at the spa. Once you reached there it took a little while to find him. Giving up you gave him a call only to see him wave at you five feet away.
"This disguise actually works" you said surprised as you gave him a hug.
"It has so far" he smiled back opening the door for you.
Both of you were initially led to different dressing rooms to get a basic shower and steam. You changed into your gown already feeling relaxed with the steam hitting you. Soon you changed into you robes and they led you to a private room. The room was tropical and warm, just the way you liked it. The scent of sandalwood candles filled your senses with every breath.
You train of thoughts were broken when the masseuse called for you once she had the massage tables set up. But there were two. You gave her a surprised look to which she didn't know how to answer. You don't remember booking a couple's massage. You wondered if this was Chris' doing being the prankster he was. But when he walked in he looked as surprised as you did.
One sharp look at him made him giggle and say "Nope. Not my doing".
"Are you sure?" you asked him laughing nervously.
"Yes, you can trust me on this".
You turned to the masseuses who looked equally confused. Chris thankfully decided to break the tension. "I don't think we booked a couple's massage".
"Oh I see. But when we booked under both your names we assumed.... Our bad. Would you like for us to set you both up in different rooms?", they asked hoping not to have ruined the experience for you two. As much as you were nervous to share a massage with Chris, a part of you wished to go ahead with it, but wanted to know what was on his mind. As if on queue he said "I don't see a problem going ahead with this" and looked at you for your approval. "Neither do I" you said looking away from Chris and at the masseuse trying your best to hide you blush. A small smile formed on Chris' face as both of you went up to your massage tables.
"Please take off your robe" your masseuse told you making your eyes wide. This was going to be harder than you thought. You could hear Chris already on his table talking to his masseuse about the details. Your masseuse could feel the tension and asked "First time?". You nodded. "Just go with it. You'll be fine" she assured you as you let out a sigh. Getting off your robe and revealing yourself wrapped in a shiny white towel wrapped about was nerve wracking. You laid down on the table feeling yourself choke to death. You've only been to a spa by yourself or with your mom, this was an extreme change.
You felt a warm hand take yours, giving you a soft squeeze. You opened your eyes sharply and turned left to look at Chris smiling at you. "Breathe", he said and you let out your long held breathe. He never let go of your hand which in fact helped you calm your nerves.
"I love sandalwood" you said out of the blue.
C : Me too. It has a very subtle scent to it.
Y/N : It does.
C : Feeling relaxed?
Y/N : More than I imagined.
C :Two years away from home? How was it for you?
You've both shared work experiences with one another. You've told him what you did in each country you traveled to, how much you loved it and all those little details. Being an actor his experiences of being away from home was quite similar to yours. But today he was asking you questions on a personal level, something the two of you had never done.
Y/N : Lonely. As much as I loved it I was very lonely. I was so consumed by work I didn't even have time to acknowledge how lonely I was. Those tiny moments when you pause and stand still, when all you want to do is go home to the person you love and tell them about your day but the ones you love are a continent away, those moments took a toll on me. But I loved what I was doing. But I missed home more than I cared to admit.
C : I feel the same way too. When I'm shooting I'm so focused. When I'm working on projects I keep myself busy. But once it wraps up or when I'm traveling, those pauses you spoke about, teared me apart a little everyday.
It was your turn to give him a gentle squeeze on his hand.
C : As much as I agree that there's nothing like home, I always wanted a safe place or a person who'd make me feel like I'm home. You know just like you said, someone I can come home to and tell them about my day or rant about the rashes my costume gave me. *He said making you laugh.*
You left go of his hand to turn around for the masseuse to work on your back.
Y/N : You'll find that home your looking for Chris. I know you will. *you said softly*
"I think I have" Chris said, more to himself than to you.

Once the massage was over, they bought you some white wine as requested and a box of chocolates while they left the room to yourselves. You both found a comfy spot on the huge warm couch and sipped on wine as Chris continued to tell you more about his latest project. He asked you about your family and listened to you intently as you briefed him about everyone he'd meet at the New Year Party. He couldn't hold back his laughter when you told him about this one particular uncle of yours. "Don't tell me I didn't warn you" you said chuckling. Watching him laugh and joke around you made your heart melt.
"Let's leave?" he asked you.
You nodded reluctantly which made him smile. "Come on, the Freedom Trail awaits us" he said pulling you off the couch helping you stand.
"Yes! Looking forward to it. Especially since I have a great guide!", you said looking at him. You saw a smudge of chocolate just below his lips. "You've got chocolate here", you pointed. He tried wiping it off using his robe's sleeve only to now get it in his beard a little. You couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
"Okay okay help me out" he said giggling.
You stepped forward, taking a small napkin in one hand and holding his cheek to steady him in the other, you carefully rubbed it all off. "Done" you said looking up at him, who now had the same look as last night, Longing.
You couldn't help yourself. You stepped forward a little, running your fingers over his forehead and slowly down his cheeks as if trying to memorize every little detail of his face. His eyes shut close at your touch. Soon your fingers reached his lips, brushing those plump slightly cracked lips. His lips parted under your touch, blowing a warm sigh to your fingers. Realizing what you were doing you quickly pulled your hand back, and he shot open his eyes when your fingers left him. His hands found their way around your waist, pulling you closer, noses bumping into each other.
"Chris" you gasped as you lay your hand on his robe holding him tight. He pulled you closer and whispered "I'm falling for you, and I really cannot help myself".
He cupped your cheek and pulled you in for a kiss. It was the most natural and passionate kiss you've ever shared. He was so tender at it you couldn't help but moan into the kiss. You both pulled back when you were breathless. He tucked the strand of hair which had escaped behind your ear, slowly leaning forward and kissing you on your cheek. You've never been this happy before and your glow showed. After a few moments you both went ahead to get changed, your head still buzzing from intimacy you just shared.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After grabbing lunch, you headed for your afternoon stroll. With a limited crowd and Chris' questionable disguise you were able to enjoy the day with no interruption. He was so passionate about educating you about the historical landmarks. He almost forgot who knew most of it considering this is your hometown too, but you didn't want to interrupt him. You'd never seen him talk so much. He'd constantly ask you if your legs hurt, if you wanted water and he'd get excited like a puppy on seeing a churros stand that you'd had to get one. You'd walk hand in hand playfully pushing each other. You'd stop occasionally to take pictures. But the best ones were the pictures you took sneakily while he was immersed in talking about the oldest building in Boston. Taking selfies were the worst. You were too short to get both of you in the frame, and Chris might be your perfect History teacher but would fail in technology, but he eventually got the hang of it. You thought you were the only sneaky one there, but you caught Chris taking a picture of you while reading the info hoarding at the Bunker Hill Monument. After long hours of scrolling through the quieter sections of Boston, you both called it a day and took a cab back home, throughout which Chris kept you laughing replaying how you got lost in one of the cross roads and took a while to get back. You just didn't want this to end. And it didn't!
