So, I’ve been seeing your posts more and more frequently and I know I’ve been following you for a while but I couldn’t remember WHY and it’s been bothering me. Not to drop in uninvited, but I saw your ask on mr. j’s blog and I was wondering if you’ve tried feliway? It might be hard to get if you’re out of the USA, but there might be an alternative if that’s the case. It’s essentially a diffuser with artificial pheromones that calm cats and has shown to help with introduction and aggression in cats. It’s always a tough decision when it comes to returning animals to a shelter (and perhaps you’ve already taken them back) but there are options to consider
we’ve tried that and a calming collar. we also tried keeping them separate but visible (putting up baby gates between doors and whatnot). i’ve run the idea of a cat behavioralist past my mother but i don’t think she’s keen on that (ultimately it’s her decision not mine).
edit: forgot to add this but i thought it was worth mentioning -- we’ve had her since december and she and the boys still don’t trust like each other

“I swear if I have to pick up one more book on–” Ny’s rant was cut short by a pointed “shhh” and a lot of hand waving from the head librarian. “Len, there isn’t even anyone in here you don’t have to shush me.”
Len shook his head and gestured at the door. “It’s 2:00. I swear it’s been 19 times in a row.”
Ny scoffed and leaned against the desk. “You have an obsession, I hope you know that.”
“I do not. It’s just so far past the point of ridiculous that I can’t help but wonder if it’s really going to happen every time.”
Ny looked Len up and down. “We could make it more interesting.” He glanced at her, but didn’t risk taking his eyes off the door.
“How?”
“If it happens. You ask him out.”
Len snorted. “I’m not going to ask him out. That’s just stupid.”
“You make sure that you have nothing else to do every day at 2:00 just to see him and you think asking him out on a date would be stupid?”“Shh! Here he comes!”
Right on schedule the blond man in question started to walk into the library. As usual nose was stuck in his book, eyes flitting across the page as he reached for the door. And as usual, he missed and ended up running right into it. Â The door shuttered as the man smacked face first into the glass with a curse.
“20. 20 days in a row he’s run into that damn door.”
“It’s kind of impressive really…Now go ask him out.”
“I never agreed to your bet.”
“Len, it wasn’t a bet. I was telling you. Now go!”
She nearly choked on her own laughter when she heard them arguing about the fact that Jim (or at least that what she thought she heard Len calling him) insisted that he hand’t run into the door more than two times total.

GREECE! Everyone in Greece is absolutely amazing and so kind (as long as they’re not rioting, but, you know…) Plus over 60% of the population speaks English so that helps. That’s the place I would definitely go back to if I had the chance.
awww Greece is definitely on my must-go-to list but it's kind of further than the other places i thought of going :/ i was thinking more west-europe because i don't know how long i'll be going
