Altering the 70′Expo battlefield a bit
Expoland ’70
(Gamera vs Monster X)
The World Expo was held in Japan in 1970 in an industrial complex. A scattering of relatively large buildings set in an area of wooded hills and undeveloped land provides kaiju with a fairly open area in which to fight.
Cover: Minimal (NO BONUS to Defense Rolls)
Veterans: Gamera (Showa), Jiger
Special Rules
The scientists at Expoland have rigged the area with low frequency SONIC transmitters. Any kaiju sensitive to SONIC ATTACKS will suffer a -5 point PENALTY to their Power and Defense Numbers.
Well first of all, pretty sure not wooded hills and undeveloped land, so while I agree its open. I am wondering if I should switch it from “minimal cover” to “light cover”Â
I think the writer for it was thinking mainly the area of the final battle which took place mainly in the park area (right). The night battle was a bit wackie
Also have an additional rule idea
Tool-using monsters such as hominids, tokusatsu heroes, Jaeger, Battra (imago) Showa Godzilla and Showa Gamera, will find plenty of improvised weapons and shields among the experimental and technological architecture of the Expo , granting a+5 to OPN and DPN of such monsters.
Here we have Gamera demonstrating :
And spiky enemies can even be rendered safe with covers for their sharp corners!
Thank you for the demonstration, Gamera.
Expoland
Got its start as part of the 70′ Expo of Suita, Osaka Japan
The same Expo celebrated/advertised in Gamera vs JigerÂ
On May 5, 2007, a 19-year-old university student from Higashiomi, Shiga was killed and nineteen other guests were injured when the Fujin Raijin II derailed at Expoland. Initial reports said that forty people were injured, with thirty-one being taken to hospital. An investigation revealed that the ride derailed due to a broken axle. None of the ride vehicle's axles had been replaced for fifteen years.
The park reopened after the accident but closed again on December 9, 2007, citing a lack of customers. On February 9, 2009, its owners finally decided that the park was permanently closed down for good
