THE FINAL ANIMATION OF OUR EXPLORATION
THOUGHTS ARE HERE!!
It was a very interesting and quite funny project to do. From the very beginning of recreating Godzilla movements to rigging the model and trying to recreate a smal town for it to destroy.
Certainly the differences in human anatomy compared to dinozaur one were the first obstacle that we needed to address and work it out. Sometimes data collected from motion capture would completely break the bones of our model making it veeeeery creepy.
Also what happened during the process of capturing was getting my own leg twisted to other direction. All the data just misunderstood the position of my ankle, twisting my whole leg painfully (only virtually though) to the backside. That was something Alexi needed to fix on each animation but we got it work out.
At the end I am very happy of the result we got. Our godzilla looks terrific in my opinion and seeing her movements withing the space makes me laugh. There is a lot to discover in motion capture and I am pretty sure we could go a little step further than what we did.
I wish we could get more time to fix the final animation capture, put some nicer textures and shaders in the scene. Make it more aesthetically pleasing to look at and maybe cooler. Just slightly cooler.
What else... hmm...
I would like to use motion capture to try to collect data from very complicated and crazy positions. I am flexible enough to twist like a pretzel or do some other crazy thing and I am always wondering how it could mess up the program trying to figure out what the hell is going on with my joints and bones. That would be something interesting to see.
