Explanatory notes pilot project - Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Bill
We’ve been working closely with our partners at the National Archives and Parliament to develop improved online functionality for Explanatory Notes for Bills and Acts. The latest version of the Notes for the Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Bill (first published in a new format in June) is now available via the links below. We think the changes to the html version are particularly exciting, enabling users to access the Contents page more easily, to get straight to the section of the Notes that interests them, and then to view the Notes side by side with the Bill text to which they relate. It should also be easier to access other related documents. Our aim has been to make it easier for parliamentarians and other users to understand how a Bill will change the law,  promoting greater accessibility.
Take a look and let us know what you think:
The html version can be found at: Â http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2014-2015/0102/notes/division/1/index.htm

This is a pilot project – we’d love to hear your comments on the new Explanatory Notes. What do you like about them? What could be improved? What else would help? Please do get in touch as soon as you can, on [email protected] We’ll be assessing feedback early in the New Year.
