Exhume
Those who try to rob a grave claimed by a necromancer rarely make the same mistake twice.
Artist: Tim Jacobus
will you ever preserve? will you ever exhume?
will you watch petals shed from flowers in bloom?
nothing can live up to promise, nothing can stop its narrative
nothing in place of catalysts and you'll never be pure again
The second bit there was added months later, after several incidents of willful misinterpretation.
21 - Exhume . . Over the summer I got on a real Nirvana kick and I especially loved the Unplugged album, and since then I’ve really been wanting to do a painting inspired by Kurt’s cover of “Where Did You Sleep Last Night.” It makes me so sad and gives me chills. This isn’t the painting that I have in mind per se but I would consider a preliminary.

do not attempt to bury the past along the beach there should be signs posted along the shoreline it is ill-advised whether the tide is high or low things keep washing up along the shore growing half a mind and legs and will undoubtedly rest itself gently by your doorstep for you to find in the morning do not attempt to bury the past along the beach an unsuspecting child may dig it up by chance and come running to you with their treasure to find your mouth agape and staring at that which you had discarded so many years ago everything has a way of resurfacing showing itself when you least expect or need do not attempt to bury the past along the beach they grow brave under the moonlight their rage quelled by the sound of water they forget how much they are unwanted even if we do not, never understanding the weight of human sentimentality they will hitchhike along the shoulder panhandle for bus fare back to your town show up with a smile and a knife in the back pocket do not attempt to bury the past along the beach the tide can easily pull them away rip them from slumber and cast them to another part of the world where they might try to sleep but this bed is not the same as the one they remember they will attach themselves to people find tourists from where you live and climb into their bags and call a cab from the airport do not attempt to bury the past along the beach there should be signs posted along the shoreline that even inanimate objects both physical and invisible grow sentience and sentiments in ways neither you or i can quite fathom do not allow for others to perform autopsies and exhume that which you wish to forget the past is not anonymous - there are claw marks in the sand with your name

things from the vampire larp (exhume) i cant stop thinking of
being in the world's biggest stiletto heels to clomp around and RUNNING AT TOP SPEED IN THEM
the one time a human thrall caught me feeding on myself and just went "absolutely not" and scared her away
seeing my in game boyfriend and immediately feeling so comfortable with him and jumping into his arms! i loved my 6'3 goth attack dog!
spending so much of the game putting my legs in his lap or tracing my hand around his shoulders to attempt to assert my claim when i was certain i'd lose him (and how much i got comfortable with touch so quickly)
having our human thrall ("employee") shove his arm against my and in character boyfriend's chest and goad me into biting him so aggressively
the immediate follow up of my thrall and boyfriend attempting to kill each other for which i, a full head shorter, had to stand between them and beg that they dont. lots of screaming in the chapel that alerting several other players to the fight
compelling my human thrall to give me his fucking uv light murder weapon. AND THEN HAVING TO BRING A STAKE WITH A LIGHT TO THE GAME RUNNERS.
watching in game boyfriend go flying through the main doors and onto the ground and sprinting to be next to him
holding him as he was threatened with death and literally begging for his life. looking at the eldest vampire and quietly going "please. please dont."
AND THEN DRAGGING THIS GIANT OUT OF THE ROOM WHEN HE WAS SPARED AND FALLING OVER OURSELVES ONTO THE STAIRS TO HOLD HIM
technically playing an older vampire so i could hold him down, and just wrapping my arms around his shoulder and head as he thrashed against me and tried to go back in, while theres chanting of "FILL THE CUP" behind us where his maker is dying.
having another vampire go "do you trust me?" and then offering an arm to get a fuuucked up memory from him when i fed.
letting the boyfriend cuck himself by watching me be fed on his friend
having a heart to heart about dead brothers with my new vampire progeny. changing all the rules of my group to ensure i could make my progeny.
continuously going "NO." whenever he tried to do drugs before i killed him. it taking three goes before he realized WHY. just staring down another vampire and going "i said no. you can take it back."
the number of people watching as i embraced my human and then slowly drained him to the ground to make him into a vampire. someone offering for an employee to dig the grave he would need and going "ill do it myself." and dirtying my arms and face with new dirt so it looked like i was digging.
U.S. plans to exhume and identify remains of 88 Pearl Harbor sailors who were buried as unknowns
The U.S. military plans to exhume the remains of 88 sailors and Marines killed when the USS Arizona was bombed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and who were buried as unknowns in a Honolulu cemetery. It’s part of an effort to use advances in DNA technology to attach names to those the military was unable to identify after the aerial assault 85 years ago. The disinterments from the…
