#executive eggplant

Some of us Murdlers have ships we ship outside the oxymorons. For me, that ship (well, one of them, I have a couple others) is Eggplant and Olive. (Yes, I know, a heterosexual ship, how scandalous :V) I think they’d bond over shared hatred of their boss (see: Murdle Jr., and that’s all I can say because I’ve spoiled enough of that book as is :P)

Also, first pass at designs for both of them! Couldn’t be bothered to properly color it, though :P Yes, they both have eyebags. And messy hair. TekCo characters, to me, need to give the impression of being exhausted and generally unhappy to be here. It’s a vibes thing :P

Done solely for fun, and because I know some people have ships outside our beloved detectives. None of these are particularly ride-or-die with the exception of maybe the first; they’re based solely on vibes and what I think is fun :P

Executive Eggplant x Executive Assistant Olive (Murdle Jr. sold me on a lot of characters, and these two are among them. Considering what they do and say in that book, I get the feeling neither of them particularly like their jobs or their boss. So I figured they’d bond over that. And then I started shipping them over that. I have incredibly lazy fanart and everything XD)

Agent Fuchsia x Mrs. Ruby (I kind of feel like they’d have a whole cat-and-mouse-esque “law officer and master criminal” kind of thing. Like, chase sequences with copious amounts of tension. You see the vision?)

Comrade Champagne x Cosmonaut Bluski (“Is this just because they’re both communists?” Well, not ENTIRELY. It’s mostly because they appear in a case together in Book 2 [for similar reasons, I HC Umber and Flint as best friends] and also this art by Nines, which a) is hilarious and b) implies a very fun dynamic. And really, most of my ships are built around very fun dynamics :P)

Chessboxer Blaze x Editor Ivory (This one is SUPER random, so I’ll explain: remember a while back, I mentioned HCing that Irratino, Night, and Umber roomed together back in college? Well, if Case 3 is to be believed, there should be five people per room. So I grabbed Blaze and Ivory to fill out the remaining two spots. Then I got to bouncing them around in my head, decided I liked the way they vibed with each other, and, well, now we have this. My brain works in mysterious ways :P)

Reader Amethyst x The Black Hat (My only excuse here is “it’s funny”. I mean, hey, if they survived Volume 3, they’re probably stuck on that mountain based on their last known locations, so. They can keep each other company :V)

??? x ??? (*GASP* A mystery ship :0 This one, specifically, is what’s referred to as a Dry-Docked Ship; they aren’t together, but I HC they used to be. As for who they are, well…let me keep a few secrets 😉)

Mauve: Yes, it’s hard to believe pressing the same button over and over again isn’t having any results.

Indigo: It’s not my job to know how to operate a computer. That’s what the help is for. Eggplant, come over here and operate this computer.

Eggplant: I’m not your slave, Indigo.

Olive: *while Olivia is scream-crying* Maybe she’s hungry?!

Eggplant: Yeah! Let’s, uh, give her a chili dog! Everyone loves chili dogs.

Olive: I don’t think she can eat solid food.

Eggplant: Well then put it in the blender.

Lemon: *picks Olivia up* If you say so. *starts walking towards blender*
