I absolutely HATE people who are full of themselves and think that they are so much better than others. Every time I encounter such a person I am overcome by an overwhelming desire to wipe that smug look off their faces, to make them realize that they are not as talented or important as they think themselves to be. No one has the right to think that he/she is better than anyone else, and anyone who thinks he/she does is fool to do so. I know many amazingly multitalented people who have more than enough to brag about, but yet are nice, modest, humble people who don’t make a big deal out of their numerous achievements. On the other hand I know people who have very little to brag about but are incessantly arrogant and stuck up, belittling others and constantly praising themselves. For me, the mark of a praiseworthy person is humility, being down to earth. No matter what one’s achievements are, one should always be humble. People who go around looking down on people just give off an air of inherent barbaric quality, and in the process of belittling others they do not realize that they are acting in a way that belittles their own persons. These are also the people who believe that there can be no other person better than them, and are gravely mistaken. It is only when they learn to look past the glory and drop the arrogance can they truly be great, and more people will like them for it. However I think that there will always be arrogant people, and so, for my own mental health, I have resolved to simply keep away from them.
