this constant villainizing of dany by sansa’s fanbase is so lame tbh like asoiaf was never supposed to be the moral purity version of a dick measuring contest because all these characters are capable of moral ambiguity. and dany is operating on such a large scale her actions have huge consequences. dany is a queen ruling an entire region with three dragons. she has immense power and the more power you have the more people will be affected by your choices; for better or worse. to some dany is a hero to others shes a villain.
literally the same applies to every. single. character.
even sansa who has a very small sphere of influence. the only person she’s a little bit responsible for is sweetrobin, an innocent child, and sansa is part of a plot to murder him so she can rise to power. that makes her a villain in his story. is she one in general? no. but she has shades of grey like every other character.
thats what grrm wanted to do with this series. he wanted to create real, flawed, human characters who stumble as often as they triumph. he fully endorses the idea that “the human heart in conflict with itself is the only thing worth writing” that internal struggle against good and evil is best thing about asoiaf but a majority of the fandom is incapable of appreciating it.
