What kind of jobs do you think the TFOTA crew would have in the mortal world?
Hm...aside from Cardan (lawyer), I haven't really given it much thought. I don't think I'd write a mortal world AU, so it's a moot point anyway, but off the top of my head, with very little consideration, here are my options.
Taryn: A fashion designer or stylist. I know it's really obvious, but sometime the obvious option is obvious because it's right.
Jude: defense attorney. It would have the added bonus of having a situation where she and Cardan are often pitted against each other in cases. Courtroom rivals to lovers, anyone?
Cardan: If he's not a lawyer, I could see him running a corporation. It would probably be a family business, with a board that wants him to take hands off role, but he'd stay on out of spite, only to find that he actually enjoys the work. He'd take lots of vacations, though.
Vivi: Idk...I really can't see her sticking with any particular job long term. Maybe she'd be a professional temp.
Nicasia: socialite. Her job would be to be seen in the right places with the right people. She might zhuzh it up by being a junior member of some volunteer board, but really she'd be some combination of the Hilton sisters.
Locke: Actor. He'd be very famous, but also not that great. Like a soap actor who somehow made it big. Incredibly hot. Incredibly one note. He'd be huge in period dramas, though.
Valerian: He would die young. Probably a drug overdose during college, or maybe murdered by someone he really had no business dealing with. (Maybe Jude. Maybe one of Jude's clients).
Oak: Honestly, there's no version of him I'd put older than college age, so, I guess fast food worker? He'd probably be studying something obscure, like comparative global folklore, or practical psychology.
Madoc: Something shady, potentially criminal. He would have started in the military, though.
Oriana: Trophy wife. Not a housewife, mind you. A trophy wife. She might "work" with Nicasia and Orlagh occasionally, but her main job would be to look fabulous and spend Madoc's money (he's fine with it, though).
