Burn, baby, burn
When the trailers revealed that the big battle between RDA and Na'vi forces - both see and forest and maybe more - is taking place at the Spirit Tree near Aw'atlu I was a bit disappointed. For a movie that was potential end of the franchise that was underwhelming. I mean the battle looks supercool but loss of no matter how many ships was not going to stop RDA when Bridgehead can just print more.
However this new trailer shows that the sea battle might not be the full extent the war. This does not look like just Factory Ship. This looks like Bridgehead under attack. Maybe it's even the Betabridge? For once I have no idea when in the movie this is taking place. I'm so exited.
But this is a payback because those fires we saw burning in other trailers? It wasn't just Metkayina homes that can be rebuilt. It's not just Varang going crazy with a flamethrower. It's RDA coming with big guns and burning Mekayina Hometree roots.
And it looks like this was Varang's idea as she says "Burn them all". It happened to her people and she wants others to feel the same pain. They didn't help so they deserve to suffer.
This looks like it makes even Qyaritch uncomfortable even though this is exactly what he remembers doing to Omatikaya. To him those memories are fresh. Even fresher are memories of burning Ta'unui homes. But I suppose capturing Jake is worth it.
There is nothing he wouldn't do to achieve his goal. Nothing.
Right?
