Today is the day....superbowlgate. I write this at just a little after 11am EST. The game starts at 6:30pm EST. I know there are SO MANY clues we have all seen, posted, reblogged, liked, etc. π too many for me to identify here. I figured I might post random thoughts as they spring into my mind throughout the day. So, here's something that's been bugging me, and I don't know how far back it goes in the season. The engagement scene at Enzo's. GRANTED I'm a firm believer that this is the part where everyone (Hawkins etc.) are trapped in Vecna's mind/are flayed. I just thought it was odd that Joyce and Hopper didn't really kiss. Sure it LOOKED sweet, he kisses her on the top of the head, she gives him sweet looks, they dance, but no kiss at a marriage proposal? These 2 PASSIONATE people who have been shown to BE PASSIONATE and ECCENTRIC throughout the seasons...had basically a low key engagement? It goes into some people's theories of Joyce being the mind flayer (apologies to those of you who have posted this theory, I can't remember who posted it, but I acknowledge you here). OR it goes to the theory of memories being messed with...which could change personalities. Then I was thinking about Joyce this season. Has she felt off to you? At times a but watered down from her eccentric ways? It felt off at times, but in the context of her also being flayed, that makes sense. I know on a personal level I was crying, went on my knees and kissing my (now) husband like crazy when he proposed. Hopper proposing to Joyce was just too safe, and I think that's supposed to tip off to everyone that this world is completely off.
