I hate seeing hatred in fandom spaces so much. Imagine you like the same thing as someone but they spew hatred and shit towards you bc you have a different headcanon then them. Its one thing to be like "oh I think this is more likely." Its a Totally different thing to spew hate and throw a fit because someone thinks differently about something than you. Why does it matter so much? You both like the same media, spewing hatred over headcanons is such an ass move. It actually makes me kinda like your headcanon less, if you throw a fit over it like a toddler. Especially if you are a Grown ass adult, no one wants to hear from you, it just causes tension and is the reason people don't share headcanons as much anymore. "I wish fandom spaces were how they used to be!" Then don't be a bitch to people man, it's not that hard. There's so much hatred in the world already, we don't need to add it to fandoms, especially since people use those as safe spaces.

I would like to say I don’t understand why this shit keeps happening, but I actually do understand it way too well. It just makes me so sad and angry. Especially on a site where people find and make their communities.
So much of this is about ego, and the people with power wielding that power to protect themselves and failing to protect others with it. A mere hint of negative sentiment towards them is harassment that is dealt with immediately and harshly, but a dozen complaints about discrimination or threats or bullying take ages to process and frequently come to unsatisfactory moderation decisions.
Whatever the sentiments of the people running this hellsite, you are always welcome in my corner of the internet, wherever you find it. You are all wonderful, and we all deserve to feel that part of this space belongs to us and those to whom we can connect.

Pure Double Standards
As a long time fan of many controversial fandoms, I would like to share some advice on how to enjoy the thing you love and not let anyone else ruin it.
And it can be summed up like this: Accept that your canon is different than everybody else’s.
I’m going to use Star Wars as an example here. The first 3 movies? Unquestionably canon. Outside of that it starts getting controversial. So I view the first 3 movies as the “Torah” (a widely agreed upon fundamental part of canon) and everything beyond that is personal canon.
My Star Wars canon is the original trilogy, the prequels, the clone wars, rogue one, and force awakens. To me everything outside of that is considered fanfiction. And a lot of my takes on Star Wars as a whole revolve around that being my basis. But others will disagree with me, and thats ok. I still like hearing others takes.
But this process allows me to enjoy the things I love even if actual full cannon is shit.
I apply this mentality to a lot of the fandoms I follow.
