Overhauling @onetwopassitstudio 's H910 (cont'): ...and the series continue! 😉 . HD910 PCB (dubbed the "Digital Board") is where the harmonizing effect happens! This is the CORE of the Eventide H910, the first commercial unit in history capable of real time pitch-shifting. Back in 1975-76, this was SUCH an achievement... and 42 years later, it still represents an amazing effort of fitting all the necessary wired-logic (no microprocessor or even a DSP in there! everything is made of standard logic ICs 👍) onto a 40x30cm printed circuit board. All hail Mr. Agnello! 👏👏👏👌👌👌 . The PCB has now been completely recapped, trimmers have been replaced, and a fresh-new ribbon cable with new DIL connectors has been fitted. Next step: testing all the socketed ICs before reinstalling them, and... it will be good to go! THERE MIGHT BE EVIL IN THIS MACHINE, IT'S DRIVIN' ME COMPLETELY CRAZY!!! 😱😱😱 . Once you think you're eventually ready to start calibrating it (after a LOOONG time spent just fixing it), yet another issue pops out!!!! 😱 . This time: not only the "MAN" mode front panel switch was dirty enough inside it to render its control signal way too random (hence a very unpleasant and chaotic modulation of the pitched signal... and, moreover, with intermittents, please!!! 😡), but also a dead LM324 quad op-amp in the PLL section of the HA910 analog board prevented the use of any other pitch control mode than the manual, basic one... 😥 . Now that the switch is clean and the op-amp has been replaced, everything's back into order! Until the next issue, that is... 😂😂😂 .
