       despite  having  spent  the  night  hanging  out  with  ezra  and  only  seeing  him  last  about  an  hour  and  a  half  ago,  salem  found  himself  looking  forward  to  spending  time  with  his  friend  during  the  regatta  event.  there  was  a  level  of  nerves  salem  found  fizzling  in  his  blood  for  a  reason  unbeknownst  to  him,  but  he  chalked  it  up  to  wanting  to  make  a  good  impression  with  ezra's  nephews.  he'd  met  them  a  handful  of  times  in  passing,  yet  nothing  lengthy  enough  for  him  to  form  an  impression.  which  is  partially  why  salem  made  sure  to  bring  along  his  school  backpack  filled  with  some  light  snacks  and  drinks  for  the  two  boys,  and  some  options  for  ezra  since  salem  remembered  the  younger  mentioning  his  seafood  allergy  previously  and  salem  doubted  there  would  be  much  variety  for  him  to  eat  from  the  food  stalls.  ❝  long  time  no  see,  stranger.  ❞  salem  greeted  warmly  with  a  smile  once  he  spotted  ezra  by  the  lakeside  with  the  twins  and  approached  them.  ❝  jeez,  you  two  look  like  you've  grown  so  much  since  i  last  saw  you.  next  thing  you  know  you'll  be  taller  than  me.  ❞  he  joked  lightly,  squatting  down  so  he  was  at  height  with  the  boys  and  offering  each  hand  out  in  a  fist  bump  for  them  both.  ❝  i'm  salem.  ezra's  friend  —  i  don't  know  if  ezra's  ever  mentioned  me,  but  i  hear  a  lot  about  how  awesome  you  guys  are.  ❞
