Draco Lucius Malfoy. Some don’t understand why I treasure him that much and think I’m attracted to him because he’s utterly stunning. Let me explain: 

I not only love Draco Malfoy, but he is the character in the series that I relate to the most, in so many ways that it would be tedious of me to write them all down. Yet, I intend to make one thing clear: I do not approve all the things he does or all his beliefs but I am sure we all held/hold our share of amoral beliefs and wrong values transmitted within our families.

We have to remember where he comes from and how he grew up bombarded by “pure blood” ideologies and the “superiority of the wizards”, cloistered in the Manor with no other views coming from outside because all the connections of the Malfoys are with people sharing their twisted ideas. 

Most importantly, you do not question what your parents tell you when you are young, they raised you, they gave you love and comfort, they never hurt you or lied to you about having too much chocolate gives tummy aches? Why would you question something that makes sense for them when it seems like all they ever told you makes perfect sense?

This is why I embrace Cursed Child, because it was Draco’s redemption: it does not excuse all the terrible things he’d said or thoughts but I thank J.K. Rowling for giving him the chance to ask for forgiveness and explaining himself, and most importantly to forgive himself.
